In response to all those who say 'Watch kickboxing!'...

In this bitch, we like Grappling.

Scoring POINTS.

Outpointing...outgrappling someone 4 million to negative a hundred. Make their kids cry and their wives just leave the arena in disgust. That'll learn em to try and sign on to fight you. You, who are the best.

Shoulda got better at grappling to stop it. Then it coulda been a good fight. Shoulda knocked dude out at the beggining of each round which starts standing.

Brother, you've lost it. You used to have the best AV on this site (snobby Jiri) but now you're cheering for POINTS?

You seem to be forgetting the statement you are supporting, this is what the statement implies. Check back and see what this thread is really all about. Either way you have no idea how to argue in good faith and seem to and instantly take things way too personally when people rebut your points. I know its hard to grasp but after all this I still I still wish you a great day.

And yes I know, Fuck me, fuck those other guys and waah waah waah
The only statement I'm supporting is my own, which does not at all imply that. The world doesn't need more aggressively stupid people, it's okay to not be as dumb as possible for your own amusement.

If victory via control time with grappling is harder than striking, even lame striking, how come we don't see the latter nearly as much? Izzy and Strickland are really the only ones I can think of in the last few years. There are boring rounds taken via zero-impact grappling on every Apex card.

Either one can be lame... But saying it's harder seems counter to my observation of it being a least-resistance path to a (decision) victory.

You also expose yourself to more risk standing for 5 minutes than grappling for 5 minutes. Someone's ability to throw a good strike or even put up a sub is limited if they're being laid on. The striker is after all just standing there, and their ability to run is limited by the cage/ring.
The reason I describe it as harder is because it is harder on the body to actively grapple for that amount of time compared to striking. The striker is limited by the cage but at the same he can move around and is able to engage and disengage if he possesses the right footwork. Once engaged in grappling the only way to disengage is to work out of it.

Grappling uses up more cardio then striking. Ask anyone who did any sort of striking how demanding grappling is on the body in comparison. Especially for a longer period of time without pauses.

I see just as many boring stand up fights as I do ground fights these days.

"Boo hoo hoo, you guys are stupid"

Haha, classic. Well thought out response. Shows real intellect and clears your bullshit statement up perfectly. You Sir are master debater.

Thank you for adding to this topic, the forum could not survive without your infinite wisdom.

Have a great day

I really do hope Jiri gets the title back so you go back to this AV
U know it bro. I might go back to it when his next fight gets close.

Or make some other Jiri related one

Some people actually wanna score the fight for Sean

Mental

UFC is supposed to be MMA, as in Mixed Marital Arts. This includes ALL forms of combat, not just only those that Dana prefers.

I want to see the best fighters do what they do best and see who comes out winning.

If the best fighter is slowly squeezing the life out of his opponent like a boa constrictor to win, then that's what I want to see.

Don't underestimate other fighters finding ways to beat said "boa constrictor style" fighter. This leads to better fighters in what is supposed to be the best league in the world.

Picking fighters based on what is popular is diluting the UFC.

Let the fighters fight !
