It should've been the main event.
It should've been FOTN.
Not only did it just give WMMA a massive image boost, it's probably the best WMMA fight of all time.

I didn't think Jędrzejczyk's chin would last, but I was wrong, and it looks like her weight cut did indeed make her more susceptible to getting knocked out, though her defense is still as bad as I claimed it to be. With two losses to the champion and a division she's essentially already cleared out, I'd like to see Jędrzejczyk move up to Flyweight to give that division some new life and make her weight cut less of a hindrance and factor in her future performances.

I didn't think Namajunas' cardio would last five rounds, but I was wrong, though she did start slowing down slightly after the second round but it was nice to see her game evolve. Namajunas still needs to work on her clinch-game, but given the improvement I saw in this last fight with her cardio and pace, I expect her to continue to improve with each subsequent bout in the weaknesses she's aware of and ones that got exposed in this fight (leg kick defense and better incorporating her own kicks in with her punches). Lastly, Namajunas' Sonnen-esque takedown in the 5th round was beautiful to witness.

As for the scoring I could see it argued two ways and two ways only:
49-47 Namajunas
48-47 Namajunas

One thing I did not like at all was Jędrzejczyk throwing her hand up at the end of every round trying that old school trick of convincing ignorant judges that she won the round, and this behavior was all the more worse when she jumped on top of the cage at the end of the fight, it was a sour sight after what otherwise was a fantastic fight from both women.

Great analysis and amazing fight...and that's coming from someone who mostly can't stand wmma.

Not a fan off JJ as a person, but her and Rose throw down like dudes in there, hespect.

Rose needs to seriously work on her clinch game, she gets thrown around in there alot. Luckily her boxing, timing and footwork are some of the best in wmma.

That's the problem with WMMA as a whole: you have a few women who are just as skilled as men, but the rest are absolute cans.

What's crazy is, Namajunas initiated all the clinches (if memory serves me correctly) and it was in those moments that earned Jędrzejczyk some points. And when Namajunas threw stand-alone kicks (with no punches before or after) she got countered and put off balance by Jędrzejczyk, which tells me that Namajunas needs to improve with punch/kick combos. Namajunas shined and dominated when she used her legs for footwork and just threw hands; Namajunas' footwork and head movement is better than a lot of men in the UFC.

I wonder what Claudia will do to Rose when she gets into the clinch with her. I could see Claudia ragdolling her, and I am not a fan of Claudia's. Styles make fights.

Oh I definitely agree.

Please, no one take what I'm saying in this thread as if it necessarily applies against another opponent, styles definitely make fights and Namajunas has a long road ahead of her in defending that title.

are you kidding me??? this move is worth at least one round. I already gave her round 1 before the fight started because of this.
