Aldo is, from what I understand, a guaranteed a title shot. What that means is that, as long as Conor doesn't lose his belt, and it sounds like Aldo is the first in line, since we don't hear anything about anything related to Edgar getting a shot, then he would be fighting Conor next regardless of what happens, as long as something unexpected happens like him relinquishing his belt or something like that.

I'm sure Aldo wants to fight Conor Mcgregor tommorow, but another loss would be such a critical blow to his career with so little time to properly prepare for a fighter who, everything said and done, knocked him out under 11 seconds or whatever seconds it was ,after talking that much smack as a challenger leading up to a fight.

It's like cooking your triple chocolate fudge cake with strawberry filling inside in an oven. You want to eat it when it's close to being done as long as it's edible, you want to take it out and juts gulp it down your throat, but you KNOW that when you wait and let it cook thoroughly and wait patiently for your time, when that bell rings, then it will be the best triple chocolate fudge cake with strawberry filling inside from the oven.

Aldo more than likely has one more shot to bake that fucking cake, so why risk it now?

He had 1 year to prepare the cake the first time and Conor ate it for 13 seconds, so I think this will not help any.

It's fine if that's Aldo's reasoning, but we have full right to call him out of bullshiting about fighting Conor anyplace, anytime, any weight.

Freedom of speech =\= Freedom of consequence

Why would you understand that? Edgar appears next in line.

Then why did Aldo say 1 month ago he was already training in case RDA pulls out?

Then why are you telling the kids you will bake the cake at any time and are preparing to bake it next week if you refuse to bake it until next month when strawberries are fresh?

Aldo just got off of his suspension for being KO and couldn't even grapple until a few weeks ago, and couldn't spar until last week. He hasn't been allowed in a gym since his fight. Coming off of a KO and not even going for a jog in a couple of months to fight a guy who just KO you in 13 seconds would be very unintelligent.

Edgar is next in line for the FW title shot. He's guaranteed it after the run he's racked up including a Swanson demolition and 1st round Mendes knockout. Aldo will have to just wait or take a fight in the meantime. He just fought the guy and got knocked cold in 10 seconds. The fight was waved off at 13 seconds after two unnecessary hammer fists. This happened after about a year of build up and heavy promotion, him pulling out originally at UFC 189, and then that happening. It doesn't get any worse than that.

Then he should not post a month ago he is training to replace RDA. That seems to be what he said.

to me it shows that aldo actually cares about his fights and not just easy money

he didnt want to go in there unprepared although he will miss out on a huge pay-day and might not get another opportunity

Aldo beat Edgar when in my opinion Edgar beat Bendo for the lightweight title. In my opinion that was the super fight between the guy who beat who was almost undisputedly the beat lightweight ever in their second fight after robbing him blind in the first fight and the guy who was the king pin of the featherweight division.

He may not get a chance again, should have grabbed it when it was there.

The only way you can 'defend' Aldo at this point is going with the '2 weeks isn't enough for a championship fight' route.

He said he'd been training specifically to fill in for RDA and then once it happens he isn't willing to do it? Very odd. He was probably very emotional when he released that statement

There is no defense, he said that he was sticking too training in case RDA dropped out, and that happened and Aldo turned it down, he said that he would fight Conor without the title being on the line.

And it bit him in the ass. For the record saying no was smart, the posturing was not. That's why Conor has the fans he does. When he says something, he actually means it.

Sure, it is. Just like it was just posturing and empty air when Riggs said he's lop his dick off if Conor beat Aldo. Still males either look silly after the fact.

The issue is with the "anywhere, anytime" and then not living it up.
