improving your guard game on your own

i'm experiencing difficulties with the wall walk drill. I keep pushing my body back.

can you roll over your shoulders? if you cannot, then you are going to have problems, you are probably flat on your back, you have to be on your shoulders to spin..

Yeah that was definitely it right there! I noticed when I spin further to my side and lean more towards my shoulders that I can actually get myself to spin better, and maintain the same position. :cool:
 
If you have no access to anything, get a balance ball and work on your flexibility and balance in your hips. It will help your guard retention a lot and will also transfer over to other positions that require balance and flexibility.

This is for guard passing mostly but you get the point. Use it to get balance and flexibility/mobility in your hips and groin.
