I'm the only one who thought Belal lost every round?

I thought he took round 4. I can’t recall if it was round 2 or 3 but thought one of them was close enough you could reasonably give it to him though I didn’t.
Belals best round was the round he got jack down and landed some ground and pound but then Jack got up and landed hard shots in the feet and had him wobbled

I remember thinking 2-2 heading into the last round, but overall it was a competitive fight. JDM by sweep would be a bad scorecard.

Belal lacks stopping power but he absolutely looked like a world class MMA adapted striker. He lumped up JDM in what was broadly a kickboxing match, held his own and then some.

JDM did what Leon's coaches were screaming for, use your footwork. He showed up prepared.

Most everyone in the pbp had it 2-2 into the 5th.
I personally had the fight a 3-1 in favour of JDM (more damage)

Bring back Pride scoring, this isn't a 12 rd. Boxing match.
If that was the case it's the easiest win for JDM ever.
I agree. I can see with the MMA scoring criteria why Belal wins round 4, but in every single round, belal took more damage than jack.

Nah, round 4 was pretty clearly Belal's.

1 was close-ish, tend JDM
2 was close, lean Belal
3 was close-ish, tend JDM
4 was Belal's
5 was exciting but was JDM's

Thought Belal was down 3-0 after 3 live. Rewatched first round and I can see him winning it. Think 3-2 or 4-1 is a fair score.

I tend to lean toward this sentiment. Belal lacks the power but he was touching jack up with volume. I think most of us have this perception of Belal being weak, puttering or merely serviceable in the standup, where Jack is perhaps over estimated potentially. (Or not, im just trying to acknowledge my own bias). Belal impressed me-as did JDM.

Completely agree.

Belal improved late in his career and then grew into his own confidence. JDM didn't slip on a banana peel and get hurt, Belal lumped his face up, he was really wearing it. No doubt both guys impressed.

What Jack has going for him is youth and world class experience to match. We're in for some really fun fights with this guy next few years.

One could claim that JDM won 50-45, as well as 49-46. The 48-47 had "champ gets close rounds" written all over it.

In general JDM clearly won, he didnt 10-8 Bilel in any round but you could claim that the beat him from start till end.

If the roles would have been reversed and Bilel won like JDM did we would have 10 threads today about how Bilel emasculated, sonned, dominated and riduculed JDM. And threads like that would go on for the next weeks, so...

I thought he won every round as well, however I was thinking some judges might have it 2 and 2 going to the last.

JDM really won the belt in the last round and fought like he wanted it more.

Props to him.

I had him winning the 3rd. I'd have to go back to re-watch it to see if I got that one right, but I had JDM rounds 1, 2 and 4 going into the 5th and I don't think there's any way to score round 5 for Belal.

Who gives a shit. The right guy won. It's a pointless discussion. You can believe whatever you want; there's no need to make a thread about it.
