My wife said the same thing. It takes time to get comfortable. The more you get hit, the more you'll get used to it. There's no short cut unfortunately.

u call me a moron and ill give u 31% right up your noggin.loling @ the morons itt
You dont work up the intensity, if youre sparring it should be far more playful than combative. You should be going like 30% of your power at most. Just checking and tapping. If youre hitting hard youre an imbecile.
fighting isnt for you then if you are scared of being hit, unless you have the reflexes of RJJ, you are going to get hit, and hard, and often
whats the worst that can happen, a bust lip, a broken nose, ive been in with the UK MW kickboxing champ at one point and caught him with a big shot, safe to say he tried to beat the living shit out of me for hitting him hard, he was actually surprised i stuck around and went more rounds
its just being hit
yeah, this dude was a bit of a cunt and liked to humiliate people, so i laid one on him fucking big time when i had the chance, he wasnt impressed at all....lolThis, you'll get clipped eventually. And RJJ didn't start off with that movement, I think it's safe to say he got hit a shit ton in his early days too.
And yes, if you clip someone better than you hard be prepared for some punishment. Which also is good imo, because it teaches you you shouldn't swing for the bleachers in sparring and be respectful.

he actually said "oh, so its going to be like that is it" and proceeded to try and beat the shit out of me for the rest of the round, and he didnt, he actually said my technique at blocking kicks was poor because i pointed my elbows out when he kicked my body, said it was going to get me hurt, i reckon he kicked my elbow and hurt his foot...LOL
Hello! Unfortunately there is only one way of getting rid of the fear of getting it, and it is to get hit. With this in mind, do not go nuts and start getting punched in the head on purpose! Start with light sparring and combinations drills such that you can learn how to defend yourself before going for harder sparring and possibly the first matches. How do i get over the fear of being hit? I do wrestling and jiu jitsu and i think im pretty good at them but everytime ive tried muay thai or a striking sport i always get scared and get beat up. How do i get over this fear so i can start becoming a good striker and stop quitting
and before you know it, you are saying 'loose' instead of 'lose'Hello! Unfortunately there is only one way of getting rid of the fear of getting it, and it is to get hit. General advice: learn how to be comfortable with your defence before going crazy with sparring, once you loose brain cells they do not come back!
