Im scared of getting hit

Find yourself a dominatrix and have them beat the everloving shit out of you, drop a steamer on your head, and then let you smash.

Its about the physical endurance as well as the psychological aspect of it as well.

If you get the carrot after getting the stick, things change.

This just means you haven't been hit enough.

Don't worry, it'll pass.

Have you told them to let you bang bro?

loling @ the morons itt

You dont work up the intensity, if youre sparring it should be far more playful than combative. You should be going like 30% of your power at most. Just checking and tapping. If youre hitting hard youre an imbecile.

u call me a moron and ill give u 31% right up your noggin.

As others have said, start with touch sparring without contact, then do with a bit of contact and increase the level of contact gradually. You'll get used to it. There is no other way.

fighting isnt for you then if you are scared of being hit, unless you have the reflexes of RJJ, you are going to get hit, and hard, and often

whats the worst that can happen, a bust lip, a broken nose, ive been in with the UK MW kickboxing champ at one point and caught him with a big shot, safe to say he tried to beat the living shit out of me for hitting him hard, he was actually surprised i stuck around and went more rounds

its just being hit

This, you'll get clipped eventually. And RJJ didn't start off with that movement, I think it's safe to say he got hit a shit ton in his early days too.

And yes, if you clip someone better than you hard be prepared for some punishment. Which also is good imo, because it teaches you you shouldn't swing for the bleachers in sparring and be respectful.

yeah, this dude was a bit of a cunt and liked to humiliate people, so i laid one on him fucking big time when i had the chance, he wasnt impressed at all....lol

he actually said "oh, so its going to be like that is it" and proceeded to try and beat the shit out of me for the rest of the round, and he didnt, he actually said my technique at blocking kicks was poor because i pointed my elbows out when he kicked my body, said it was going to get me hurt, i reckon he kicked my elbow and hurt his foot...LOL

work on wresting as much as you can. Keep working on the takedown.

Hahaha It's always fun when people give 'advice' like that.

You have bad apples around, I usually try to avoid them sparring, or when I feel brave oblige and go to fucking war with them lol. We had this one dude who always went really hard on everybody. And I was drilling a slip&counter with this beginner (around a year experience) for weeks at a time. I saw him sparring the wild guy, yelled to him 'It's open' and after 2 or 3 tries he slipped and countered this guy perfectly, flatlined him.

Wild guy did get a lot more relaxed after that humbling.

How do i get over the fear of being hit? I do wrestling and jiu jitsu and i think im pretty good at them but everytime ive tried muay thai or a striking sport i always get scared and get beat up. How do i get over this fear so i can start becoming a good striker and stop quitting
Hello! Unfortunately there is only one way of getting rid of the fear of getting it, and it is to get hit. With this in mind, do not go nuts and start getting punched in the head on purpose! Start with light sparring and combinations drills such that you can learn how to defend yourself before going for harder sparring and possibly the first matches.
General advice: learn how to be comfortable with your defence before going crazy with sparring, once you loose brain cells they do not come back!

and before you know it, you are saying 'loose' instead of 'lose'

You could just practive on @Intermission .
Anytime he gets in range, say something sensible. When he opens his mouth, instinctively to retort with something completely illogical. Tee off on him.
