It's very easy to see one's posture when they are about to sucker punch someone. They turn their dominant shoulder back and away at a angle to square up and have the optimal range for a powerful punch.

Untrained idiots who let other idiots gain this advantageous posture and not realize this always suffer this fate. Especially in the street when you are in someone's face cursing at them.

think the black guy was surprised by the ease of the KO. on the bright (dark) side the satan dude looked peaceful on the cement.

I never let people get this close to me in an altercation like this. I immediately start swinging as far as I'm concerned your coming in to hit me.

I didn't think that was a sucker punch. Satan was in his face and chest bumping him. He had every right to swing! Having said that? I agree with you. You got to stay ever vigilant. Satan was not!!

Technically still is a sucker punch and if investigated by a LEO would be under assault. Sure the satan dork had physical contact and under court could be argued so that he initially committed battery, however, the fact remains that the black guy escalated it to assault because he still could have made means to escape and avoid the physical confrontation altogether as it is on tape.

Also, the black guy needs a way to prove his life is in danger before escalating the situation to assault. From what I've seen on the tape it's really not there for him in his defense. What would make matters worse are the injuries of the satan dork.

Maybe our resident lawyer and street fighting expert @faustian could provide additional legal insight and counsel.

Imo, most of the street fights posted here are sucker punches and clear cut legal nightmares for these doofuses should they be prosecuted.

I see your point. I figured due to the initial contact being done by satan? That the other guy would have the right to protect himself. I have to say, love your avatar! Considering I live in MA and that is Tom Brady? Gotta love it!!

Greatest QB of all time and I say this as a bigger Montana fan and a die hard loyal Cowboys.
 
it looks to me like the black guy was gassing up his car and the other guy came over basically walking into his space and threatening him.

This seems like a pretty good example of self defense. I consider chest bumping someone and getting in their face like that to be assault. also getting that much into someone's physical space is a clear threat.

I'm not a cop and I'm not a prosecutor but if I were a member of a jury I would definitely feel that this man was within his rights to throw the first punch. He was being threatened for God's sake.
