I really dont have a favorite active fighter anymore.

I dont want to keep watching anderson, hendo, shogun lose.

I really refuse to be a jones or conor fan.

I like rumble but his actions towards woman leave me feeling sour about him.

I guess wonderboy since ive been watching him since his kickboxing days but i cant say hes my favorite.

Robbie is always fun to watch but just doesnt come to mind when i think of my favorite active fighter.

Has this era created much convolution to the roster or is the new breed just not good enough to stand out?
 
Or you can just start enjoying fighters for their fighting ability?

I do hence why i still watch. But i like to be emotional invested into this. Its a human nature thing.

I think it's harder for fighters to stand out now because the overall level of competition is much better than it used to be.

Saying goodbye to the old guard sucks but in general I enjoy the parity and increase in average ability on the roster, it makes for better fights.
 
I think it's the opposite. The new bread is so good it's hard to find someone to rly cheer for him. MMA got so much talent right now ( dont count heavyweight ) i cant find my favorite guy too. I'm just sad when i see my old boys like you sad : "Shogun, Macheetach, Fedor" lose.

And Rumble is cool guy. Women can be very annoying.
 
Don't be so edgy. Learn to like more people. Sometimes we get so cool that we're too cool for our own good.

Learn to like Jon or Conor. Shit, you can even like Werdum. Mighty Mouse is super respectful and an excellent fighter..... man, your problem is simple: you don't like anyone.

Just stop doing THAT and you can enjoy THIS.
 
But no, the new breed are certainly not guilty of being "not good enough" to like! Skills have only improved. I don't think much of the old elite in their prime (including my favourite of all time, Anderson) would beat much of the new elite in their prime. Life evolves.

Reality sucks but that suction is still reality.
 
its tough for me cos machida and Khabib were my fav active fighters,but machida is losing and khabibs injured. I still enjoy very much Robbie Lawler and Ultimate fighting Conor

How you can not like Jon Jones? It's impossible. His personality is totally outstanding. All I have to say is this.

I rly enjoy Jon Jones in MMA. :D

 
Good fights are enough for me. I don't have to swing off some fighter's nutsack like a barnacle to enjoy it
 
I'm in the same boat as you OP. There are guys I get really amped up to watch fight (Conor, Jones, Rockhold) but I have no emotional investment and I don't really care if they win or lose, not like my old favorites like Shogun and GSP.

Why ppl don't love this character after shows like this is beyond me.

Right, I forgot, he broke a lady's wrist in a car accident.

Anyway this guy is utterly funny to me. And he's got that champion mindstate as well. War Jones!
