I'm I the only one who dislikes seeing legends way past prime fighting for money?

Unfortunately it has happened few times and still happening now Anderson Silva has joined the list and imho he should have retired couple of fights ago and him signing 10-fights contract while he was almost 40 was just no-brainer.

If he fought some easy match-ups for money fight would have been great but not competitive fights like Bisping or Hall geez.

Honorable mentions to Machida, Rashad, and JDS because I think these guys were elite but lost to competition they would have eaten alive in there prime and it kind sucks but thats why people should fight in there primes.

The Notorious once are ofcourse Hendo and Cro Cop

Anderson should Retire

it sucks seeing him lose to gatekeepers like Bisping

It's prizefighting man, as long as the UFC pays them $$$ they will keep doing it to earn a living. It doesn't bother me in the least since I'm not emotionally attached to them. Here's hoping Hall and Beastin 25/8 use shogun and Anderson to up their profiles...or maybe the fans in Brasil get to see their old school heroes eke out one more win.

Why? Let them have last few paydays before they ride into sunset.
They deserve it.

I'm not even Rashad fan but I respect his Legacy as former UFC champion and a top fighter for over a decade so seeing him losing to Bader was just not okay. Rashad would have beaten any version of Bader if he didn't came to the fight from 2 and half years layoff and way past his prime

I doubt Andersons fighting because he needs money.

He probably just loves fighting and doesn't want to hang up the gloves even if his bodies telling him he probably should.

Even though money is undoubtedly a reason, I don't think it's the main reason for Anderson still fighting. I think he just truly loves it and doesn't want to stop, even though he should.

Sadly, he'll most likely learn the hard way.

Another Hendo case. Hendo would fight til his 100 if they let him

They've earned the right to fight for fun, if that coincides with earning a nice ol' paycheck, so be it.

Anderson is really not a good example. He doesn't need to fight for the money but because he likes it. Why man shouldn't do what he likes. Because of somebody who he even doesn't know. Or why others should quit earning money when past prime. Do you guys quit your job when your brain function start going downwards (past 40 for sure). This tarnish legacy bullshit. They won't feed themself by the legacy. Let them bang & live your own life.

No... but yes...

No, you're not the only one who doesn't like it, but I'll admit that I usually tune in... or it at least grabs my interest, somewhat.

Better than fighting for free, I'd say.

I honestly think that some of them love doing it so much that they just can't stop. Roy Jones Jr. comes to mind for me. I hope Anderson doesn't follow in his footsteps in that regard.

This is how they make money.
It shouldn't be though. If they do it right they should fucking buy an apt complex or invest to keep that $$ flow going. God knows those guys make more in one payday than the average Joe will see in a lifetime. You hear stories now and then superstars blowing wealth to shit.

Yes, and you are the only one that pisses sitting down, and wipes his ass from bottom up.

I agree in principle, and Cro Cop is a good example. But Anderson Silva appears to be doing fine. He's still competitive at the elite level and didn't take much damage in either the Diaz or Bisping fights. I still enjoy watching him and look forward to seeing his next fight.

It's their job.

Should people also refrain from fighting before they hit their prime?
