I'm excited, but at the same time I'm not because they're both my favourite fighters.

Nick is actually my #1 favourite fighter, but Conor & Nate are right up there.

I don't want to see either of them lose. I can't cheer for just one of them, I know who I'm picking to win the fight and it's Conor, but I don't want to see Nate get knocked out or anything. And if Nate pulls it off, I don't want to see Conor get knocked out and even if Nate does win, I'm more than positive it won't be from strikes, but if Conor wins, it will likely be the KO/TKO.

It just sucks that one of them is going to lose and I hate seeing Nate lose, and I'd hate to see Conor lose.

I want to see Nate win simply because he's been one of my favourites for many years now. It'd be great to see him get such a big win because that would really shoot him up the ladder. He will have a win over one of the best ever - but at the same time I want to see Conor win. I don't want Conor's streak to get broken and I want his legacy to keep building and building.

I just hope it's a great fight. No matter who wins, I'll be happy but it still sucks for me to see two of my favourites, with a high probability of one of them getting knocked out.

if conor wins, it will set up the fight with Nick Diaz.
If you watched the press conference, you would notice that Mcgregor was throwing many jabs towards Nick. Mcgregor is setting up the real money fight which is Nick vs Conor

happens so often with MMA.
Aldo KO was a little bitter-sweet for me but I'm always rooting for Conor

if you really like them equally, you won't really have a clue who you like "more" until the fight starts.
it's happened to me a few times and once the punches start flowing I immediately find myself rooting for one guy over the other.
not because one or the other is winning, it's just human nature.

I get what you are saying. I always gravitate towards the underdog, just because it seems more exciting that way. It's too easy to root for a dominant winner. Reminds me of shit like how everybody and their mother used to be a Yankees fan, or New England fan, just because they used to be so dominant.

You're probably right.

There have been times when there were some fighters I really liked going against each other, but not at this level. It's never been my actual two favourites, so I don't know how I'm going to feel on fight night. I can't cheer for just one of them, at least right now but who knows, maybe it will be different during the fight as you said.

agreed, upsets are much more exciting and all things equal I tend to root for the underdog myself.

Everybody loves a winner, right?

After the let down of RDA being injured I felt a little let down, then came the who will fight Conor sweepstakes I got excited on the possibilities, then I heard it was Nate I felt a little deflated I like Nate but felt stylistically it favors Conor. Then came the mini presser and Nate being Nate got Conor to react then I got all juiced for this. Then just a day or so ago I hear Nate admit on camera "I might get murked" who the f*k admits to that; on camera? Say it to yourself tell it to your bro in private, but don't say it on camera to your fans???

I like them both.
If I had to bet, I would confidently put money on Conor.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind at all if Nate shocks the world.
I just don't think it's going to happen.

The good thing is that Conor will have his choice of RDA or Lawler
and
Nate will have some spending cash.

That would be a middleweight fight. Insane.

people don't quit to root for their favorite teams or athlets when they lose or viceversa.

He already has the built in excuse of this being a short notice fight.. I hope we don't see a repeat of Cowboy vs RDA or even Conor vs Aldo. So many wads will remain unblown.

Nick hasn't officially won a fight since he fought BJ in 2011. Granted, he's been fighting stiff competition but nonetheless, Conor-Nick is not the money fight. The UFC is likely hoping to have Conor available for the UFC 200 main event at which point they will have three possible money fights. In the event that he loses this Saturday, Conor will defend his 145 belt against Edgar. In the likely even that he wins, they can rebook the Dos Anjos fight or set up what I believe is the biggest money fight, a potential showdown with a returning GSP. The narratives practically write themselves; icon vs. icon, humble vs. brash, era vs. era, striker vs. grappler, both prides of their respective countries, young lion vs. old lion. Furthermore, it's the safest super fight in history as neither guy's stock drops with a loss. Conor would be fighting a powerhouse wrestler two divisions above his weight class while GSP would be taking on a young lion in his prime after a three year layoff. In the meantime, that fight is guaranteed to SHATTER every MMA record in history.

With this I do agree...

I really wanted the RDA fight to happen. But I think Conor wins and RDA is no longer on the radar. Lawler is the bigger money fight. And Conor will keep going after the money. Likely GSP after Lawler.
