If Yushin Okami loses to Hector Lombard will he be cut?

Yushin Okami has many similarities to Jon Fitch. He's not really an "exciting" fighter in the traditional sense, and also like Fitch, the UFC didn't want to give him a title shot.
They don't let Okami fight all that often and it doesn't seem like the UFC really want to promote Okami or want him on the roster.

Is the UFC giving Okami a fight with Lombard in the hopes that Lombard will KO him dramatically and then they can cut him afterwards?

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, after all, the UFC repeatedly told us in the lead up to Okami vs Silva that Okami was "the best fighter to ever come out of Japan", and they wouldn't really cut "the best fighter to ever come out of Japan", would they?

i'd say no. okami isn't particularly popular in japan, but he's in a lot of press for the event, and he's valuable to the ufc in that market.

Does anybody want to see him fight Andy again?? Tat was top 5 worse title fight I have seen. Probably around 4th worse. If A. he is so far out he will not make another run, and B. Nobody wants to see the end result if he does make a run, then what is the point of paying him more than an undefeated prospect who is A. More fan friendly in the long run, and B. More exciting becaue of his newness, and possibility of a title run.

Cut Okami, pay for 4 legitimate undefeated prospects.. One of them makes an exiting run.. Could be worth it.

He should not be cut he's still better than a lot of guys in the mw divison and is a solid gatekeeper, Lombard will ko him though he is going I have no success in trying to take down a short elite judoka that is strong as hell, standing Lombard will stalk him down and put him out IMO.
