Now im not talking about being a D Rider of his and flame anyone who voices a negative opinion about him.But rather back him against the ufc right now,Its pretty obvious the reason the ufc announced the Jones vs Gustaffson 2 fight before Jones had signed his contract and that's because there trying to pressure him into signing a deal he isn't happy with,by getting the public opinion against him.

So should you call him a pussy and say he is scared of a guy he beat and nearly finished and play into the ufc hands by forcing him to sign a deal for less money or should you show the fighters your support so they can be compensated for putting there bodies and health on the line.

The ufc pay is a joke to the top guys.

Canelo got 8m for his last fight

According to Badenhausen, if the fight reaches 300,000 PPV buys, Alvarez gets $6 million, and if it gets to 400,000 buys, the payout increases to $8 million.

Jones did 350k buys for him vs gus 1 you think he earned any were near 6-8m ?

The facts we know, the highest ufc payout is $5m,either to brock, gsp,or Silva. All have had 1m+ ppv sales and none of them earned more then a guy who sold 400k ppvs?

A ufc fighter seems to be on between 2-5 dollars in ppv points maximum from what we know. With the a ppv at say $60 and the ufc getting $30 of that, with the fighters getting only $5 maximum.

So my question is why don't the fans care more that the fighters there paying to see,not the shady organisation arranging the fights,is taking 80-90% percent of the money your spending to follow your favourite fighters?

CANELO

youre comparing boxing to ufc

k, next

I want to see the fighters make boxing money but that's not going to happen but I think PPV points is fair if UFC has realistic numbers that have been attained rather than unreachable numbers. I fight for all MMA fighters......................battle on even eye pokers.

Maybe the basis of Jones' negotiating is that he's arguably the top guy in the sport and is demanding more money based on that. Maybe he wants additional sponsors and needs UFC approval. Maybe a lot of things. But I doubt Jones would refuse to re-sign.

I tend not to comment on UFC pay because no one besides the top brass knows exactly who makes what.

While I'll always support the fighters in the battle of more pay,no matter who it is, I think people fail to realize how much leverage the UFC actually has.

Jones doesn't really have a play here because its not like he could pull a Melendez and risk going elsewhere since no one is going to pay him more than what he's already making and his salary would be severely capped.

That really puts him between a rock and a hard place because if he decides to not fight, well then he won't make any money at all, and the UFC can still continue the division and have a new champion emerge....with the exact same number of ratings nonetheless. The fact that the UFC can pull the same numbers with or without Jones is key, because their argument is that the UFC is far bigger than any one fighter and thats what people are paying to see. This is what makes it so difficult for MMA fighters when they want to try to push back.

Have you even seen Jon Jones home? The dude is doing very well, as are most of the top UFC guys.

Jones is probably the highest paid fighter in the company now. Fuck you and fuck this thread.

The top ufc payout ever is 5m that means they offer no more then $5 ppv points to a fighter, say he got offered $15 ppv points from bellator, you think a Jones headlined bellator event would do less then 250k buys? he would make nearly $4m from a fight.

While I agree Jones is limited on what he can do action wise he is arguably mmas biggest active star.Honestly the fighters need the fans to stand with them,i understand its not boxing but is there any other worldwide sport that pays there athletes less then 20% of earnings?

Well then I guess I'm not a fight fan cause I don't care if the highest paid guy in the company gets even more. If you're concerned about pay, focus it on the guys making 8k, not the guys making 7 figures.

So many wrong grammers in that post... so sad.
And no, no we don't. Jones gets paid enough to pay off judges. That's too much already.

Last week, Jones was a dirty fighter who only wins because of eye pokes and those cheap leg kicks. Now he's in contract negotiations and all of a sudden he's the leader of LA REVOLUCION!!! Sherdog is going to be so disappointed when he signs a new contract and agrees to fight Gus - he'll go back to being a cheap leg kicker and a guy who drunk drove his BMW into a lamp post in no time.

Take a chill pill bill. Being the highest paid fighter in a company that's known for jerking there employees really dosnt mean shit. That's like saying "that's the highest paid little kid in the sweat shop".

Jones shouldn't have a say in who he fights to be honest. He is the champ, he should fight whoever the UFC puts in front of him. If he doesn't like it he could always vacate the belt.

Does that mean he shouldn't be able to voice his opinion on who he should face next?

Because that is all I've seen him do.

Oh those poor little kids in the sweat shops getting paid a disclosed 6 figure amount to work one night...

A couple million to fight someone is to much money anyway.

I've done it for free for years, never complained about my pay.
