Its really that simple....the gap in coaching, facilities and training partners is increasing all the time. i just dont see how you can be elite without going to America. There is still one or two fighters who will be the exception. but last nights main event was another example of that

Yeah cause no one outside of America has ever accomplished anything in MMA.

But all the other fighters Almeida beat in the UFC are based in America. Should they all move to Brazil?

there have been a couple of UFC events in brazil where the brazilians beat everyone else. were you saying you have to move there after those events?

was canada the place to go when GSP was 50-45ing everyone and their mother?

America has the most advanced pharmacists also.

Donald Cerrone is about as "MURICA FUCK YEA!" as you can get and he got destroyed by RDA

Btw this thread seems like a good place to post these

You mean best medicine? Well yeah offcourse and its another reason to go there to have advantages when you fight

Nah, No love is on one of the worst teams in MMA if you look at recent results, no coaching or facilities will give you a better chin.

And in which country does RDA train?

Brazilifornia in North Brazil

Rafael Cordeiro claimed the land that King's MMA sits upon in the name of Brazil

At the end of the day though, the US is producing the better athletes at the moment, regardless of skill and training camp. And that's equally as responsible for what we're seeing. You don't see many great athletes coming out of Europe(in MMA). You see some in Brazil, but not to the same degree. When you talk about exceptions outside of the US and Brazil, you have someone like GSP, who while highly skilled, was also a freak athlete. Cody Garbrandt is a better athlete than Almeida. Stipe was a better athlete than Werdum. Obviously athleticism doesn't mean a lot without skill, but when you have both, you win. Look at a team like Team Alpha Male, they've become notorious for not having their shit together when it comes to coaching, but they're a team full of athletic specimens that have a natural advantage over the vast majority of the roster.

At the end of the day it comes down to the individual not the camp or the team. Stipe trains with a bunch of football dads with beer guts and still ko'd Werdum who trains at one of the most elite camps in America.
Jacksons fighters get beat all the time by fighters from nobody camps. Gus arguably beat Jones and he trains in Sweden. Conor trains with mostly bums in Ireland and is the FW champ and ko'd the best FW of all time in 13 seconds.

I don't think the best fighters/trainers are in the US, but I still agree with TS, because:
1. If you want to fight in an American org, it will be a huge disadvantage with the jetlag if you travel from Asia or Europe. 6-7 weeks is just not enough time to be acclimatised.
2. In part, the US have a strong tradition for wrestling. Yes, many other countries do to, but not all.
3. Many substances and "sports-drinks" are allowed in the US, but not in Europe. This 9is an advantage in most sports.
4. The big camps have equipment and experience to do testing, and know more about the USADA, and will find ways to get around it. In other parts of the world, it is like being blindfolded, and never knowing when they will show up or if nthe stuff is out of the system.

On the other hand, it is a bit strange that we have had so many great europen/asian/south-amaerican champions and top ten fighters in a US league, where you should think at least all top ten should be from the US.

If I wanted to be an elite grappler I'd go to Germany and train with Kristijan Simeunovic. There's also quite a few options for Sambo/Olympic wrestling in Eastern Europe too but Kristijan's brand of grappling is far superior to any other in my opinion. Also the Thai/Kickboxing you get in The Netherlands or even the UK is far superior to the US.

Na stay out of here we gots too many peeps already

Honestly, these events are loaded up for home town wins.

This is a different situation.

I understand the OP, they are partly right, but plenty of great training exists elsewhere on the planet.

Hopefully everyone will move to the US, then the Americans can shut up going on about "their" guys winning.

Then we can actually focus on the fighters as individual human beings.
