Great question. While I haven't read this specific book, I've read several other books in the series to my 4 year old: "If you give a... Pig a Pancake, Mouse a Cookie, Moose a Muffin, Cat a Cupcake," and they all end the same way. The animal likes it but it sets off a chain of stupid shit that only culminates in the animal wanting the original item again.
