If you could flip a switch and send the world back to the 80s, would you do it?

Here's a follow-up question. . .

If you said yes, then would you want to be able to remember the future (i.e. remember what it was like to have modern technology, remember 9/11, remember the social changes that occurred between 1990 and 2016) or would you rather have that all wiped from your memory?

Hmmm, that's a good question. My initial thought is that I'd like to remember the changes b/c I'd be able to predict the future ;) - But in reality I think I'd like it wiped from my memory so I could experience things all over again. I actually don't know that answer to that one.

The only part of this I don't get is how exactly it will be the 80s FOREVER. What does that even mean?

First thought, buy the shit out of all Star Wars toys

Think about it kind of like Groundhog Day . . . but not exactly like that.

It's not the same day over and over--you can still live your life and move forward--but it's like the era itself doesn't change. Technology doesn't change. Styles don't change. Music doesn't change. Etc.

It's a tricky question. You have to really think about it.

I think that I'd like to be able to wipe some memories but not others. But if it's all or nothing, I have to wipe everything.

And have no MMA?

That part sucks. But at least you get the heyday of shiny pants kickboxing.

And I don't say that ironically. I fucking LOVE this shit. PLEASE WATCH AND MARVEL!

And even better. . .

Yes, just to go back to kill Hitler

In the 80s?

You list no internet as a con, but forget to mention that the 80's where one the most violent decades ever

I'd love to get in on the ground floor of the crack industry.

I know that's true in certain parts of the country, like New York.

I don't know that's true in, say, Boise or Memphis or Seattle. Were the 80s more dangerous in those cities than they were in the 90s? Or today?

Living from say 1983 onwards as a 25 year old would be cool. Whilst born in the 80s I dont remember it so Im not sure how much Id care to be stuck in a time loop with no sherdog.

Are we aware of our old past (or future) when we go back, do we forget ?

why the fuck would I want to go back to the 80's.....the Cold War,AIDS was frightening the shit out of everyone,Cancer was a death sentence, cigarette smoke everywhere you go,shops, buses, trains and planes.

I'm not even a big technology guy,but the stuff back in the 80's wasn't that great, and neither was Van Damme

I would've like to have seen New York from the 70's just to see if it really was as much of a shithole as it was claimed and Miami in the 80's,to see how lawless & ''Wild Westish'' it was due to the Coke.

I was 9 when the 80's began,so I have many good memories about the 80's,but you forget the shit.
