If you could flip a switch and send the world back to the 80s, would you do it?

The latter would definitely be a problem, but you can just tell them to shave that shit.

I don't mind the full bush. It adds to the element of the surprise. You aren't quite sure what it's gonna be under all that hair :)

I would go back in a second
80s america is the pinnacle of the modern era
it was the perfect level of technology and the arts were at a peak---- great movies and music and arcades
but also in the 80s we were united (to a high degree) and doing USA chants and etc the end of the cold war

I was a kid too, so too young to get laid, i would like to have gone from like 14 to 24 in the 80s---like high school through college
I want to fuck a valley girl an 80s preppy girl and girls with bushes and wearing blue eye shadow and pink cheeks

oh man

check out this video

I really like 81-83, fucking mtv back then an new wave and punk

Well said. I agree with most of it.

And that looks like an interesting video. I'll have to check it out when I have half an hour to kill.

LOL. Yeah . . . and by yeah, I mean no. I REALLY don't want to go down that road.

LOL - Well I didn't mean a "surprise" surprise as in "guillllltttyyyyyyyyyyy". I mean a sense of surprise as in .........are there going to be big lips or little lips. Is it gonna be large or small and stuff like that. It's like an adventure.....lol

But ya, I'd rather NOT go back to full bush era. I'm just saying it didn't and wouldn't stop me :)

Only so I could change some decisions I made then. The whole "wish I knew then what I know now" thing.

Naw, no sherdog, and white women with bootays would be non-existant, full on bonsai trees on chicks as well

Thanks, but no thanks

Here's a follow-up question. . .

If you said yes, then would you want to be able to remember the future (i.e. remember what it was like to have modern technology, remember 9/11, remember the social changes that occurred between 1990 and 2016) or would you rather have that all wiped from your memory?

Maybe.
I was ten to twenty during the eighties.
Some cool stuff, some not so cool

No internet is a deal breaker.
Unless there was free cocaine everywhere

I would trade whatever I have left of my life to live through the 80s one more time. So I would not care at all about anything after that,

Good things in life are meant to fade, like an early summer flower blooming in the midnight moon. That is what makes it romantic. Take the good with you into the future. The cool waves of the 80's resonates within.

Well here's why I ask the question. . .

It seems like in order to REALLY go back to the 80s then we have to not only push the tech/styles/music etc back, but also go back to the MINDSET of the 80s. Otherwise, we're just post-2000 era people living with the trappings of a past era.

I mean, people are only going to think that VHS is the coolest shit ever if they don't remember DVD and Blu-Ray.

Wtf? I hope it's all about the car

80s were great. Full on bush as has been mentioned was actually great.

Games were great, shit Nintendo is still trying to capture the magic of Mario Bros, arcades were awesome for picking up

So am I supposed to go back to 80s as I was, i.e. 8-18 yrs old or live there as I am now, as an adult and live like Charlie Sheen in Wallstreet or Michael J Fox Bright Lights, Big City? Ie. rich and can enjoy it?

well, i think if you are willing to go back to the 80s it means you like it better than X decade or anything X decade has to offer
so remembering post 80s would make the 80s look even better

Bro . . . are you trying to Hassle the Hoff?

You can choose any age up to your current age.

It's an interesting question to consider. I mean, I'm sure you have very fond memories of VHS but would you continue to use the format today if movies were still being released on it?

Not sure I follow. But there is no piece of technology that would make me turn down going back to the 80s. The 80s were not the best for me personally (90s/00s were).

It's really tempting, so yeah, i might do it. But i would have to forget about all the advances in technology. I'd lose my shit the first time i got a busy signal calling someone on a landline knowing that there could be pocket phones. I'd also have to be an adult.
