Beating Anderson, Vitor and Machida should put Weidman on the same level of accomplishment as Jones. These are all top notch fighters and there is really no one in the middleweight that would be a challenge after this. Heck Machida is one of the top 5 light heavy weights and there should be no one but Jones to fight.

Jones beat 2 of those 3, plus a small army of other great fighters. I wouldn't go as far as saying they are on the same level of accomplishment.

Weidman beat Anderson Silva twice, that is more impressive than all the other lesser fighters Jones beat.

If he overcomes vitors explosiveness Machidas speed and Jacares ground game than yes.

why he would have a superfight against a guy who wouldnt be the champion

There should be no talk of super fights unless you are talking about Aldo vs Pettis

Agree TS, but Jacare is also in the title picture. I guess it will all depend on who's ready to fight when and how much time passes between Weidman's fights.

How about no? Lets have Weidman defend a few more times before we're all of a sudden talking about a fucking "super fight"..

He will beat both and there won't be ANY "superfight" for two simple reasons : first those superfights never happened for a good reason. You don't want to devalue any UFC Title.
Second and that will neglect the first: Gustafsson is gonna maul Jones even harder and better than the first time around and claim what's his : the UFC LHW Gold forever.

Instead of talking about "superfights" on different categories, people should focus on realistic matches : the superfights of two people fighting for a title at the same weight.

How about this, if either Vitor or Machida dethrone Weidman we have a Vitor/Machida vs Jones superfight rematch?

I definitely want to see Weidman run the Brazilian gauntlet at MW before moving up. Silva, Belfort, Machida, Jacare. Then it depends on challengers after that in both divisions. Bisping, Anderson, Romero, etc. at MW. Gus, Cormier, Evans, Davis, Rumble, etc. at LHW.

I seriously don't think there is anyone who is not a natural LHW who can compete with Jones. He's just too big.

No, Jones has to get a few more wins for it too be a super fight. Probably needs to go back in time and compete in a Pride Grand Prix.

Add one 'feeler' fight in there @ 205 + against someone like Davis + Jacare @ 185lb and I'd be down.
