Who do you think would be the biggest comeback success of all-time, Vitor or Robbie Lawler?

Its tough to decide, Vitor was always hyped more than Robbie Lawler but he finally started living up to the hype starting IMO with his Matt Lindland massacre. Since then hes only lost to the best in Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.

Lawler on the other hand after losing to guys like Pete Spratt, Nick Diaz, and Evan Tanner wasn't highly regarded at all for a while. But now being the WW champ, regardless of who you think REALLY won that fight, that's an incredible comeback.

I'd say Vitor because he's battled back from a lot. Now if he wins and passes his drug tests it'll just add to his story :p Lawlers story on the other hand is just plain awesome, after all those years of fighting he finally has a belt.

vitor fails when fighting wrestlers

Robbie because he Vitor is a cheater.

I say Vitor because he has been doing it for longer and also across 3 different divisions , quite a Journey

Vitor, simply based on the merits that he beat The Chris, that in itself is a far greater accomplishment then all of robbies resurgence.

Vitor has ONE loss at 185 since he dropped down in 2007. What's he coming back from? He's been there the whole time.

Robbie's story is different. He kinda fell off the grid but when he KO'ed Josh Koscheck people were like, WOW. It's a great story. Robbie's in my top 3 favorite fighters. He fights a bit like Vitor because he's coming to hurt you and isn't interested in points.

Robbie.

He wasn't a guy you'd think would've been a UFC champ until that streak he went on in the UFC where he beat Kos, Voelker and Rory.

He event lost his last Strikeforce fight to Lorenz Larkin and before that he had a shaky record in Strikeforce.

It wasn't until his UFC return that he stepped up his game.

Lawlor because it was less expected. I literally cheered when he got the decision over Hendricks (although I wasn't expecting it).

Robbie.

He was kinda a joke coming into the UFC. had just lost to Lorenz larkin.

Vitor was never a joke.

Vitor has always been a great fighter, he has been a champ. It's pretty impressing how long of a career he has had and how he is still at the top of the game and still improving. He had a hard time 2004-2006 during the time his sister went missing. He went 2-5 during those years. He has bounced back and had some good wins. I'll be a happy camper when vitor gets that gold

Hendricks isn't the unstoppable monster Chris Weidman is though. I think slaying the beast that is Chris Weidman would a bigger success historically. Weidman isn't too far away from claiming 185 GOAT. He already scalped the former guy who held that acclaim twice and added Machidas skull to his collection. Add Vitor, Gator, Rockhold an I'm not so sure he can't make a case after that. No way Vitor wins though so why even discuss the impossible.
