As much as that was maybe the most dominating win in a Championship fight, and Twood didn't do anything at all, I feel like that fight could have gone either way. I think Tyron with a 100% different mentality, would be 50/50 in that fight. Skill wise, he is fairly equal, and strength wise, he might have an advantage. But mentally, he is really weak. I just don't think he will ever be able to fix his holes.

But fuck, put GSP's head on Tyrons body................................................Dayum.

    He has a puncher's chance. That's it.

    No.

Usman is just that much better than Tyron.

Bigger, faster, stronger. Tyron would need to win via freak injury like the way he beat condit.

Tyron ran into a wall this time. Generally, he fights very defensively and looks to counter. In the first round, Tyron's defense held up. But eventually, Tyron would crack because Usman's pressure and pace is ongoing. Usman is legitimately trying to smother, TD, maintain position and utilize ground strikes. He will do this all day. One, two, and three stuffed TDs do not matter. He will keep the same approach. That'll really wear on a fighter. Tyron doesn't have the offensive output, versatility and cardio to fight like that for 5 rounds. A guy like Jones is a good match-up for Usman. While Jones may not out wrestle him, he'd use his TDD, clinch, and offensive to keep Usman at bay. Tyron has a counter right, a choke from guard, and great TDD. But he's limited against folk who are gonna pressure all night without any mitigation.

If Tyron wasn’t committed to constantly backing his self up into the cage against a pressure wrestler who’s goal is to back Tyron up into the cage, he’d have a much better chance at success.

As it stands Tyron’s style plays directly into Usman’s hands.

Tyron would have to change from a low output counter striker who flees from the center of the cage to a higher output fighter who presses forward. Unlikely, but if he adjusted he could do it. His best success in the last fight is when he stood his ground and didn’t back up.

He probably can do better if he spent money on his camp. Most likely he spent too much making his stupid rap album. He prepped well for wonderboy and got a lot of good partners. For this camp there was no talk of any training partners or anything.

Some of you seem to forget that in fighting, as in any other sport, you have good days and bad days. In my humble opinion I didn't think Woodley looked like his usual self during that fight, he looked off the whole fight. And Usman looked phenomenal. Would love to see a rematch.

Woodley was only 30% in that fight.

The guy doesn't half Usman's cardio and pressure.

Woodley is a good fighter when you give him space and respect, when people pressure him like Rory and Usman he folds. Woodley has to work on his cardio alot.

Woodley still has good TDD and hits super fucking hard.

Even he fights willing to trade and not just waiting for the perfect moment, he can win.

Id give him a 20% chance with no adjustments, 30% chance if he goes for broke, and 40% chance if he takes it seriously, has a successful tuneup fight, and properly trains to fight Usman properly

I don't think Woodley has half the fight IQ people were giving him credit for. His only answer to a guy like Usman is a lucky right hand. That might get you 2 out of 10 times.

Woodley needs to stop backing up into the cage. Sadly that probably won't change.

You'd want to take away GSP's cardio?

I don’t know about bigger and stronger.

Tyron’s legs looked like thick, chewy, and powerful trunks compared to the toothpicks holding Usman up.

I thought it was more that he was just so stubborn about backing up in order to land a counter right, he wouldn’t mix things up at all.

I'll admit that was the first time I saw Usman fight. I don't go out of my way to watch every event anymore. What I saw was pure domination. Fighters can always make adjustments and come back stronger against someone they already faced, but I don't know if I see a realistic way for Woodley to win other than the big KO shot.
