If Tony wins and Poirier wins, can we see Poirier vs Tony?

Poirier is a guy who can stuff takedowns, have a takedown game off his own, and he comes forward and throws combinations. That's Poirier's game. He's resilient, and he's got a good camp.

Justin can make Poirier look bad if he fights like he ddi against Tony. People do improve, you know.
Dustin has improved as well

Neither guy would go for takedowns, it would be a striking battle, and who knows who would win

But you said Gaethje would easily make Dustin look bad which is just stupid to say

I think you kinda know this

Can easily =/= would easily

literally not the same thing.

Surefire way to give Tony cte..

Dustin's overall striking is light years ahead of Tony's.. and it's not like Ferguson is going to attempt to wrestle.

So Tony is fighting Dariush next week. And Poirier is fighting Conor against in two months.

Lots of people seem to be counting out Tony, but Dariush is no Oliveira nor Justin. Dariush is incredibly hittable, much shorter arms, and not the best cardio, all of which can be exploited by Tony. Tony is older, but he didn't look like he was slowing down before Justin fight, and who knows he wasn't affected by stupid second weight cut for no reason, and who knows he just needed more time to recover after the beatdown?

Conor, well, look like he didn't even start training but doing promos for his booze business and fishing and hanging out with his kids while Poirier is training already. Conor's talking a lot of shit online, but on instagram, he's just chilling and not doing nothing. I think Conor is coming in to just collect a paycheck at this point like Ben Askren.

Tony vs Poirier never happened before. Tony has done as well as anyone in the lightweight division history. Poirier did pretty well for himself in the lightweight division, only losing to Khabib I think?

This fight would be crazy.

You ever think about not posting trash?

Dustin is at the top of the division right now and Tony just lost his last two fights... and they weren't all that close. I'm not all that confident Tony can get through Dariush at this point. Even if Tony does win, Dustin is fighting for the title if he beats Conor in the trilogy match. The best case scenario, if you want to see Dustin vs Tony, is for Tony to win and Dustin to lose. But even then, I doubt Dustin would want that fight. Dustin would want Nate or a #1 contender fight. Tony isn't a big money draw and is on his way out.

Well let's hope Conor beats him then.
Why? So you can see Tony fight Dustin? Why? I realize MMA is a "anything can happen" sport, and that even the same 2 guys can fight a million times and get a million different results, but that's unrealistic, so a tentative hierarchy is established by fights. I'm not using MMA math to say Dustin would beat Tony, cuz he beat Justin and Justin beat Tony, but I am saying that because of that, he doesn't have to.

As others have said the winner of the trilogy fight will fight for the title, Ferguson is fighting to get back to top 5 competition.

I really need to see something special out of Tony to get excited for that fight. As it stands, I worry for his mental/physical health.

The winner of Oliviera/Chandler vs winner of Poirer/McGregor is the right match. I wouldn't mind seeing Tony versus the LOSER of the P/M fight, but I think Gaethje's a better choice there.

Seems like Poirier should be fighting for the belt, not anything else. But this is still a fun fight. And Tony would look a whole lot better if Oliveira were to become champ.

I don't think you wanna see that. I think we all know how that ends. Tony isn't beating dustin.

Justin and Oliveira can easily make Poirier look bad. Competition can make you look bad at times. Not to mention Tony was preparing for Khabib, and Justin was preparing for Tony or Khabib, he fights the same way.

And he didn’t get to roll at all preparing for Charles

lol sure Tony.

He the same amount of time to prep for Justin as Justin had for him. Difference is Tony had the luxury of a full five round camp.
