I think Martin is still signed with the UFC just on a break from fighting.

I dont think its really possible to make a come back season.
Most cut fighter wont be able to make any noise or run, several mentioned fighters are old (too old) or injured like crazy.

It would be a cripple season and not a come back one.

Agreed on all counts, but I was trying to make the case for someone that could actually fight for the title as opposed to simply unsigned talent.

I think the idea of the season is giving an outlier of the division a title shot...

... Martin has been close a few times, but I don't think he's gone for gold... so I would do an 8 man tourney on reality TV between Shields, Fitch, Kampmann, Alves, Maia, Rory, Koscheck, and maybe Pierce... there's some other guys that are already in line for shots, but that 8 man tourney would probably establish a path to the title for a fighter who has no other clear way to it.

Doesn't sound like fun. TUF is about finding talent, not bringing back washed up fighters.

The last time they did it one knocked out the champion though. :X

which is why TUF 4 has fewer active fighters on the roster than ANY OTHER SEASON.

Jake shields has even publicly said being cut from the UFC wasn't a big deal.
