Then the next guy who weighs 0.4 over will ask for an exception. And if he gets it, then next a guy that is over by 0.6 wants the exception too, because it's only 0.2 over what the last guy was allowed to fight at.

You have to draw the line somewhere. May as well be at the actual weight limit.

do you not understand that the commission did not give yoel time to cut the weight?

GSP and Cormier both got to slide, why not Yoel?

I think I know a guy who weighted 0.4 over championship weight and was allowed to fight for the belt anyways

The limit should be 186 it's absolutely retarded that there's a different weight limit for the title in a division that you can rank up in by weighing 186

Do we know this for sure? This is what yoel's camp is saying but could there have been confusion. They don't get 2 hrs to cut. They get 2 hrs to weigh in again. Leave the arena, go cut weight, and return to arena doesn't leave a lot of time to cut weight in downtown Chicago traffic, on a Friday, in the summer

How have they let it slide ? It’s a non title fight.

Well they probably monitored him and saw that he was looking very unfit and called it

Commission is just trying to protect the fighter

The good old if/domino effect argument

If gay people get married then can a man marry a cow now?

Who cares? He had a weight to hit and he missed it. It's still on him for being an unprofessional moron. Back to back Title fights and he screws up the 1 thing he has control of come fight week

no one let him slide, he didn't make weight and won't be eligible for the title and is probably giving % of the purse

Romero is fucking useless, been saying all week "I'll make weight no problem".

sure. the commission probably did a poor job

that's another point, the doctors did not stop the cut...it was some random commissioner

Why can't they just round to the nearest pound? Going to the 1/10ths is stupid. Do they also go the 1/100ths? What if he was 185.02 lbs? Would that still be a miss?

Romero is always pulling crap like this. Make him fight at 205 already and if he does one more foolish thing then kick him out.

Agreed. I always make that thread and always get flamed or ignored for it.

They are just increasing the odds of event failure when they make the main event cut more weight than he normamally has to cut.

You can always make an exception when somebody else makes a decision that is outside your company rules. Yoel had time yet to make the weight. For all they know is the scale Yoel used before coming out to the official scale may have been 185 and the official scale they had may had been .2 different from Yoels teams. It happens all the time which is why many are over and under lots of times in non title. Not all scales are equal.
