If theres ANY justice Matt Brown will fight Hector Lombard for the next No1 contender

Lombard would throw him around the ring and ground and pound him out or just get an easy UD

Agreed. As much as the fan boy in me would love to see Brown vs Diaz. The truth is Diaz doesn't deserve it and if Brown did get the win it wouldn't justify a title shot.

Matt deserves a contender fight put him against Lombard and see what happens. If hendricks is out for a while put the winner of Lombard/brown and ellenberger/law lower against each other

Lombard better be on point with his takedowns and punching accuracy because the longer the fight goes, the worse his chances become. Brown is like Diaz but more powerful and more reckless with his pursuit; I know Silva took a ton of shots but last night notwithstanding, Brown has been dropping people quite a bit lately. That said, he does have a tendency to jump into the firing range and is especially susceptible to body counters. However, an important distinction between Diaz and Brown is that Brown is actually MUCH MUCH better at cutting off the cage than Diaz is. Notice the angles that Brown would cut while Silva was backpedaling. There's a reason nobody seems to get off the hook when he smells blood. He's not just walking people down in straight lines. If Lombard doesn't have an answer for Brown when he enters that cerebral Berserker mode, he's going to be in serious trouble. Matt Brown is an absolute demon.

Matt is slow, too slow for Hector. He's a gritty, resilient fighter, but Lombard finishes him. People still dont understand how powerful this guy is at 170.

Ok, so lets talk about justice. Lombard who has beaten a much higher ranked opponent should get a much lower ranked opponent now instead of getting someone higher?

If there is any justice, Matt Brown will get a top 10 opponent that he deserves and not a title shot based on his performances against guys outside of the top 10.

Isnt that exactly what Jones did before he got his title shot? Matsyushenko, Hammil, Vera, Bader, and Bonnar werent in the top 10 when he ended up getting his shot

ok, so let's talk about rankings. currently, #7 Brown is ranked 1 below #6 Lombard (before Silva fight). Jake Shields was ranked #6 at the time he took the fight with a guy ranked 6 below him (Lombard that is, at #12). you should probably just stfu and suck UFC rankings' dick

As good as Brown looked last night I wouldnt put him over Rory or Condit (yeah Im not counting the dude who beat Condit last time, I dont even rememeber his name now, I think he got lucky)

Yeah it is about time Brown gets a bigger fight than Silva. Sure Silva is talented but has also been very hot and cold.

Lombard/Diaz/Berger/Lawler, these are all big big fights for Brown. Those guys are a HUGE step up and all extremely tough fights for Brown.

I don't see how he can beat those guys. Sure its MMA and anything can happen, and im not saying Brown isn't game bred but those guys just have the better skills.

Regardless of possible outcomes Matt deserves some big fights for his next 2-3 fights.

That would be one way to end the Matt Brown Hype.

So what would Lombard do? Get the easy takedown and beat him up? Sub him? Or beat up with weakbody?

He can choose how he wins this.
