If the UFC is Sold and Dana gone from the UFC

Do you think Dana would still have enough ambition to create a new org or buyout another smaller org to see if he could do it again like he did with the UFC? I assume there would be a non-compete for a few years but its possible he gets the itch back during those years off.

If say the UFC is bought by a foreign entity, they are buying all the branding and current contracts and tv/sponsorship deals, library, etc , not insignificant but part of the UFC brand is Dana, it's possible he could continue with MMA and setup a pretty strong org in America especially if the new owners are foreign and if he can have a lot of the fighters especially US/Brazil migrate back after their contracts are done then he could have at least a soild roster.

Just wondering what people thoughts are on how realistic this is...given of course that the UFC is sold
 
Maybe he'll become the new Mask for the new UFC (RIP Lewis)
 
See "non-compete clause" usually written into these sale deals.

Whatever that's worth. But I kinda believe him, yo. If Dana sells his share and gets out, it probably means he's done clowning on goofs. And he'll have so much fucking dough why the fuck would he wanna run/create a promotion that's not the UFC?
 
I could see him being an investor.. Doubt we'd see him start from the ground up and be the "President" of the company next time around. Either way he's in a good spot, if he stays with the UFC brand he'll always have a paycheck and if he invests I'm sure he has the right people around him to make sure it's a success.

We watch TUF afterall...

IIRC he has a 10% piece of the cake, so 4 billion * 0.1 = too much money to think about working

That was the first thing I thought. But then I started thinking that if he became like Lorenzo and just invested it could be worth it.

It's all pissin in the wind anyway the more I think about it. There will likely be something in the contract about how they cant create something similar to the UFC anyway. He'd have to move to a different sport.

yeah I mentioned that...i meant after it expired like sakikabara did..i mean it cant be a lifetime non-compete right?

It will be the Sherdog dream. According to many on the forum Dana White has been ruining MMA for over a decade. I haven't looked at their financial statements, but I'm going to assume after all these years of him destroying the sport the UFC is just about bankrupt.
 
The UFC wasn't ever going to survive competing with Pride or the rise of Strikeforce anyway, amirite?
 
He'll make endless vlogs criticizing the f'n goofs that take over the UFC.
 
It's very common in acquisitions that members of Sr Mgmt have to stay on for a period of time. 36 months is common.
 
I can't see Chinese run UFC being anything but a disaster.....Think the Reebok shirt screw ups like "Giblert" and such, but every second word written or spoken.

I remember coker had that type of arrangement with the ufc after the strikeforce sale...not sure coker did that much with them though
 
You'll all miss Dana when he's gone. Everytime another chump is leading the pressers, it's boring as fuck. Despite him being a dickhead and a liar at times, he is a showman, and not a puppet who is afraid to keep it PC and censor himself.

Dana Trump for president.
 
Doesn't Dana own a percentage of the UFC? If he sells he'll get a big fat payout and we will never see him again.
 
Probably go in with the Fertita's on a football team.
