... why don't all these amazing LHW's stop cutting weight and fight in the "easier" and "shallow" division?

I think you don't understand why people consider the division weak. The heavyweight top 5-10 is indeed very strong and comparable to any other division in terms of skill. The problem is there is barely any talent past that top 10, whereas in a division like lightweight even guys in the top 30 can be seen as prospects with a legitimate chance of getting to the top of the division.

The HW division has always had a few elite fighters and the rest lumbering turds. This is nothing new.

Lmao, I think my first taste of Chael P.'s trolling was in a pros pick for Fedor vs. Rogers where he said "two fatties swinging like bums, who cares."

Maybe they dont want to walk around packing a gut all day everyday like short armed #2 HW Cormeir and others in that divison. Maybe they dont feel comfortable, don't have the body type or the low morals to horse meat their body with muscle on top of muscle.

It's helped Overreem's ranking and stature in the sport. Vera did worse at LHW. Randy's biggest achievments were at HW. All kinds of fighters have fought in both disivons from jounremen like Wuiff, O'brien to Reem, RAndy, etc. They do equally as good if not better at HW.

Gus & Bones these guys are making good money, fightig accomplished fighters and dont have a gut year round or unnatural muscle on top of muscle. Why go to HW now?

Why would they need to have a gut or unnatural muscle? Randy was the exact same size at HW.

You think he cuts less than 15 lbs to get to 205?

Because it's not weak. HW is the reason weight classes exist. If MMA was open weight like the real world, no one would even know who GSP and all of those other guys are. These guys aren't killing themselves cutting weight for no reason.

no but I also don't think it's as straight forward as posting 2 weights from different fights.

a 205lbs fighter who has had to put some focus on the weight cut is smaller than a 220lbs fighter who can focus on everything else, but having looked at the photos of him fighting Liddell and Sylvia, hard to see a difference so I'd now say you are right :)

the older HW fights he was involved in, he seemed less defined physically but similar size still.
