then it would be less than 4/10 of 1% of their supposed 4 billion worth. I was thinking about this while listening to Al Iaquinta on the mma hour. Sure, they may have spent 50k or so on his surgeries, and he'll make another 50k if he wins a fight, but insurance is another topic. If you make it to the ufc and you're a winning fighter, you deserve a lot more money by default. Fighter expense too heavy? Then cut your roster and/or set a maximum payday for the big stars.

You'd run a business into the ground, stop telling proven businessmen how to run their business.

Right because there have never been successful businesses in the past that would be considered corrupt.

I don't think the UFC has ever made public what its profits are. And you can't make these assumptions based off if how much they were bought for. But yes generally fighters should get paid more, especially guys like Dillashaw.

What do you bums think of a win only progressive payout based on win streak. Max of $1M. Resets win you lose or miss weight. Losers get bupkis, nothing, nada, zip, ziltch, not even a bus ticket home.
$10k 1 win ( +Reebok mad stacks of course)
$20k 2 win
$40k 3 win
$75k 4 win
$150k 5 win
$250k 6 win
$500k 7 win
$1000k 8 win

The fans should be paid 100,000 each for their attendance to the octagon.

The UFC will pay the fighters as little as they can get away with.

The precedent has been set, make yourself a valuable commodity and you too can earn the Conor money. I don't like it, but that's the way it is. Conor sells fights, has transcended the sport and makes the top money (for MMA).

If the fighters don't like it, they can try their hand elsewhere, the UFC aren't forcing them to fight for 10k/10k.

yikes Cathal would be pulling down $75K a fight.

Horrible , nobody would take tough fights

I'm a customer and the only thing that matters in a business is making the customer happy and selling. I'm not happy with al iaquinta potentially making just 25k on a split decision loss or something like that.

Customers don't run business'. It doesn't matter what you're happy with.

Not really considering the UFC can withhold fights from UFC fighters.

If a fighter is refusing to take tough fights what makes you think the UFC is going to give that fighter another fight.

Why did a guy like Ben Saunders just return to the UFC if they pay shit and sponsor system sucks?

Why are you assuming I think they pay shit? The post I quoted said something about a guy running a business into the ground, not the ufc. I was speaking in a general sense. Reading comprehension works wonders.

It happens now, Dana is always saying how guys turn down fights , now add pay based on win streaks and it would increase ten fold there's a reason no combat org has ever used such a dumb system

Honestly I've been saying this about all sports for years. You only get paid for wins. You want to be a pro athlete then you better win or you're going to starve.

They should give Roy Nelson a lifetime supply of pizzas.

I agree it's ridiculous, but not out of the realm of possibly considering The UFC's power over the fighters.

math and business apparently aren't TS's strong points.
