If the judges disagree on a round, should it be a 10-10 round?

A comment was made on another thread:

That last part is the key point. If a round is so close that the judges disagree on who won it, shouldn't that round be a 10-10?

Judges don't see each others cards to know that they do not agree.

So how can they know to that the other judges do not agree and give 10-10.

I think the best idea is have 8 judges(one for each side of the octagon) and take 5 random judges scorecards..Judges(1-8) scorecards can be randomly selected before each fight so the judges don't even know if their card is one to be used.

so you want more draws????

if a fight ends in split decision or draw, they should just let them fight until there is a finish.

UFC AS REAL AS IT GETS BABY

How about letting retired fighters be judges?

That's the point. If the round is so close that the judge's scores disagree, the round automatically becomes a 10-10.

Already been mentioned multiple times, being a fighter is no guarantee of being a good judge. Could even go the other way, with bias towards the techniques they prefer.

Wrestlers scoring wrestling better, strikes scoring strikes better etc.

@randomalias

Well, they need to stop letting boxing judges score MMA fights and actually bring together a new body with new criteria that they teach new judges. And biased aside, it would help to have actual martial artists be judges whenever possible.

Also, I feel like judges should be heavily fined for making bad calls. Like that Byrd chick who constantly fucks up decisions.

And too, judges should also get numbers (strikes, takedowns, etc) before making their decision at the end of a fight. No more shitty calls where one guy clearly wins but the other is awarded the victory.
