If somehow Conor gets the TS at LW, winner of Islam x Dariush should be next

If Conor get's the titleshot it would be in may or later, we can't have 2 people on the line waiting for the titleshot, specially in one of UFC's most stacked divisions.
Islam is in a 9 fight winning streak(finished last 3 opponents, in one year) and Dariush in a 6 winning streak.
Gaethje lost his title, spent 1 year inactive and got a decision over Chandler who was coming off a KO loss.
Even Whittaker who was the former champion at MW had to get 3 wins over guys coming off wins to fight for the title, and that's in a much less stacked division, why should Gaethje be above Islam/Dariush?

Exactly this. If I knew he wouldn't do this, I would even be ok with Conor fighting for the 155 lbs title since he either will lose (which is entertaining to see Conor losing as usual) or he is going to lose in his next title fight anyway, in case if he doesn't lose them, then that means he earned it.

But we all know if he wins the LW belt somehow, he will just disappear with the belt for years like he did in 2016, and go to boxing with Pacquiao this time instead of Floyd, or try to fight with at 170 lbs with someone who can bring more money, such as Jorge or Nate.

It's also funny that when he sabotaged Khabib's title shot in 2016, he was criticizing Khabib for pulling out from the fights, when he himself never defended his 145 lbs belt (when Aldo clearly deserved a rematch), and then disappeared with 155 lbs belt for 2 years. He knew how he was ruining the 155 lbs title contenders, he was just making excuses for it.

There is also another worse possibility that if Conor loses the title fight to Oliveira, he will demand a rematch with Oliveira, as he did with Nate and Poirier, and he will once again delay the title fights and title contenders in 155 lbs.

Narrative is already there, this is why Yoel Romero also got title shots after losses. He only loss to the champion and number 1 contender. When the belt switches hands he's still at the front of the line.
