If Silva beats Diaz, then beats Weidman

It depends on too many factors, but let's say:
Silva beats Diaz and gets the title shot
Weidman beats Vitor
Silva beats Weidman

Who'd be on the short-list of MW contenders?
We'll have Jacare-Romero winner and Machida-Rockhold winner.

If both Jacare and Machida win it will be two Spider's Brazilian friends who'd probably decide not to fight their buddy (and methinks Silva'd said he wouldn't fight any of them before). So it's either a Silva-Weidman 10 or Silva going into retirement with a belt around his waist (and his two devastating losses to Chris written off by his fans).

But if either Romero or Rockhold win and get into the title contention, I think there's a good chance Silva is matched with any of them and Weidman gets a fight or two before fighting for the belt again.

But it doesn't really matter. Silva cannot win against Weidman.

yup. and that's the whole problem with this immediate rematch BS (or in this case close to it).

Weidman is not only 2-0 against silva but he finished him twice. quickly in both fights. and they're going to throw him right back in there for a 3rd shot? sanity has gone completely out the window with the matchmaking.

and like you said, if silva wins they have to immediately go to a 4th fight. what if silva wins that one? well now they're 2-2, only fair to have an immediate rematch, we gave it to silva after all. time for a 5th fight.

the ufc has become a full blown circus.
