Anderson is a pretty talented young fighter, not elite at this point but a solid prospect. If Shogun easily wards off his wrestling and then KTFOs him like in the ole Pride days, will you feel a glimmer of hope that Shogun can make one more good run?

BTW I mean COREY Anderson or Beastin' 25/8 for anyone about to ask 'Shogun is fighting the Spider?' or any similar joke.

It's somehow sad to always have that little hope.
Can he still win fights against good opponents? Yes, but will he ever be a wrecking machine again?
His knees are ruined and his chin is questionable...how does he recover from that?

No. Shogun will never be the same and I've come to terms with that.

BJ on the otherhand......

Shoguns greatness is behind him. A fight with Anderson to end both of their careers though would be awesome

thought you meant anderson silva. Misleading title. JK

No, especially since he had to pull out of his last fight for knee problems again. His knees are continually being injured over and over again. I'd like to see him pick up a win over Corey and then retire for his health's sake

I'll feel hope for him. Hope that he calls it a career and retires on a win.

When you say "one more good run," do you mean title run? Because if so, definitely not. I don't know how much more evidence you need to see that Shogun is never making a title run again. Dude is 4-6 in his last 10 with several of the losses being absolutely brutal and some of them just straight up embarrassing. He's looked dominant once in the last five years and it came against a guy who has lost his last four fights by first round finish (Te Huna).

A fan has to be very young to fail to understand what getting older does to any person, including athletes. People get wiser, richer, and slower as they age.

Nope, after Jones whooped that ass, all hope was gone.

Both are finished, particularly Shogun. Have the fight, then both retire in the cage together although I expect at least the winner to keep going if not both.

Sherdog is like this.

Legend wins: "He is back!!!! He is awesome, maybe he can get another title run??"

Legend loses: "He is done, he needs to retire"

It is always like that.
