Honestly, titles don't really mean much in this fight.

Also McKee's smaller than Sakuraba and his style is very boring, but Aoki was also smaller and he still was able to manhandle Sakuraba in their fight, so I think McKee would use his wrestling to takedown and grind Sakuraba and then pound him endlessly like Aoki so I really wouldn't want to see this fight or Sakuraba ever fighting again.

Unfortunately I think Sakuraba will continue fighting as I'm sure he still needs the finances.

I'd rather Saku just stay retired and compete in the occasional grappling tournament, his last fight was one of the most depressing things I've had to witness in MMA.

No.

The only over 40 fighter I would look forward to would be a Manhoef rematch.

I know. I'm sick.

I could live without Sakuraba losing to McKee

.....Well if he going to keep fighting he needs to fight someone his age. shannon ritch vs sakuraba 2 ?

I used to be a McKee fan, but not after he took a dive to Aoki.

i'll burn your house down before i let you put this out into the ether

If only Rickson had a change of heart. That's probably the last fight I'd ever want to see of Sakuraba.

Sakuraba should enter the next Open Weight Grand Prix.

The big money fight for Saku would be the Royce rematch. Two winnable fights for Saku before that to hype it up are v Shamrock 2 and v Shannon Ritch 2. A good fight for a Royce before is v Akebono 2.

Indeed, the main issue I have with my favorite fighter, who got me into the sport back in the PRIDE days, and probably favorite people in general in MMA.

But Saku needs to avoid taking strikes to the head, so with either Royce and Ken, I would be basically a Metamoris match-up with almost no strikes. Since Saku has already grappled with Royce for 3 fights (well one a grappling competition, but still...) I'd much rather watch him fight Ken.

They both need the $$$ and I'm surprised Rizin didn't try to make this fight happen yet, they could really sell it to the old school fans and the newer ones who get to watch 2 legendary veterans
(Saku vs Renzo 2 drew a lot of attention to Metamoris at the time)
battle one last time before (hopefully, but I've been saying that for years, and for both), retire from MMA and do a grappling match at ADCC or Metamoris.
I would even prefer it to a MMA bout honestly...

Or with Shannon the Cannon or course, he's always said that his fight with Saku was the best time in his entire career, even if he lost.
Fun fact: Shannon had an injured knee for the Saku fight, strained it the day before or something like that, and was trying his best to hide it since there had been no leak, only the doctor and him knew

; so he bandaged both his knees so Sak wouldn't know if he was injured, and if he was, which knee was bothering him ATM.
But as soon as they made contact he said he saw Saku with a "knowing look" (I just re-tell the story, writing what I remember) at his injured knee and started to test it immediately.
Basically he was impressed that Saku immediately realized what he tried so hard (and successfully, Bas and Quadros don't talk about that injury, no one brings it up since he told no one)

But Shannon has a bare-knuckle fight coming up with the guy who was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock (but Ken pulled out), can't recall his name, Dan something? Quin?
damn maybe the fight already happened, haven't checked MMA stuff in a week, just getting back for the series of UFC events lining up.

I'm checking if the fight happened and if Shannon won, and no Antonio Mckee is not a fight that makes me dream.
I don't want to watch Saku keep fighting pro MMA fights, ideally I would wish for a promotion lke

/rant

Sure. I just want to see him do grappling matches or if he fights in MMA, it should be against older old guys. 45 and older only.
