Than Rumble will KO Jones and be the next LHW champ!

Why do people forget that Bones is going to take Rumble down and kill him? Have we forgotten Rumble's ground game? Laying 15 minutes on Dan Hardy for christ's sake, and getting subbed by Koscheck.

We just lost a good contender in Gus; bad match up for Rumble.

One shot is all it takes when it comes to Rumble.

Did the Phil Davis fight fly out of your memory or something? Since packing on the muscle Rumble has gotten stronger and is much better at keeping guys off him.

There is a good chance that Jones wrestles the fuck out of him, but Rumble's TDD isn't so bad that we should just count him out of the fight. If he can hit Jones before the fight hits the mat it could be over "AND NEW....!"

He doesn't have DC's wrestling though. Rumble's a strong dude and i'm sure he knows his way around the clinch but is he going to get Jones off of him while still conserving energy to land that knockout punch?

His ko window is there, but I don't think it's a big one. Jones is one of the best pressure fighters in mma.

Well Phil Davis showed once again that his wrestling in MMA is a little overrated. Couldn't take down Rashad, Rumble, and now Bader. Other than beating a green Gus, a gift decision over Machida, and an actual good performance against Glover, he hasn't done so well against the top fighters.

needs to finish him in the first
otherwise he gets the dc treatment

Jones will have to employ some serious movement and find ways to suck Rumbles juice through pick n peck striking to the body hopefully slowing his pace while increasing his own.

Rumble hits hard, but I doubt he hits any harder than DC.

Just about everybody beat Robbie Lawler. Nick Diaz KO'd him. Miller, Shields and Jacare all submitted him and made it look relatively easy. Hell - Lorenz Larkin has gone 2-4 in the UFC after he beat Robbie immediately before they both moved over.

That was then and this is now.

It's pretty well established this isn't the same Rumble who drained his body to a near-shutdown to make welterweight. This is the super scary light heavyweight Rumble who trains as a Blackzillian with Rashad and Belfort that RAN THROUGH Nog, Davis and Gus sequentially.

Jones is in running for greatest-fighter-of-all-time status. He's dirty, but there is no disputing he is the best.

Rumble likely loses to Jones because he's one of the great fighters of his generation and a bad matchup for everybody. Saying Rumble loses because of years-ago fights in a different weight class is nonsense.

umm rumble has great takedown defense.... and is stronger than gus, Jones had trouble taking gus down

DC wasn't throwing at full power. DC threw maybe one or two hay makers in the 1st round but realized he's not going to hit Jones with those and he'll just end up tiring himself out winging them. Not every shot that Rumble throws is a kill shot either. Jones will be able to eat a few hits but not a clean shot from Rumble, who can? Jones will likely avoid the nasty blows. Gus got caught pretty cleanly on a power shot, that was what hurt Gus. Then knowing that Gus was no longer a threat, Rumble kept throwing nothing but power shots.lol If Jones gets hit with a good shot, he'll likely clinch up with Rumble to avoid any more damage and to recover before disengaging. Gus' strategy was simply to run away, however, he got cut off and didn't or couldn't initiate a clinch; allowing him to take even more punishment.

Rumble can get hurt trying to come on the inside Quickly and Jones has an intimidating Elbow and I doubt rumble will be that aggressive going after Jones plus he might run into an elbow trying to cut the cage on Jones or just moving on the inside
