This match up is horrible. Complete and total dead end match making by the ufc. Rory winning doesnt get him closer to a title shot, wonderboy wining means he must fight for a title next as anything after rory and hendricks would be a huge step down for Thompson.


Rory should be fighting hendricks. Wonderboy should be fighting rick story, condit or maia.

I think he'll leave the UFC whether he wins or loses, Bellator will make a huge play for him, if Rory were to beat WB imagine how much money Bellator would offer him, they offered Will Brooks $150k per fight so I imagine they'd at least give Rory $200k per fight.

Diaz hasn't had a win since 2011. He does not deserve, nor will he get, a fight with a guy who is generally ranked the #2 guy in the division.

I don't understand why Wonderboy didn't get a title shot. He has an exciting style that the UFC would want and he actually has a legitimate win streak that would justify a shot. Strange politics.

i guess woodley got the waiting list long enough, so they went and knocked that out. so i guess they were being "fare" for once. Wonderboy is a bad matchup for everyone though. his one weakness that brown exposed has been remedied, and regardless if people can hang with him striking, there isnt anyone that can outstrike him. so if you cant get him down, it's a bad night for you

Assuming Rory and Robbie wins

Rory has win over Maia but has lost twice to Robbie and once to Condit (although the last one with Robbie was a fucking classic)
Maia has lost to Rory but is 5-0 since then against quality competition
Condit is 2-4 is his last six. Has a loss to Woodley, win over Rory and a razor thin loss to Lawler

It's a pickem game. I would make Rory/Condit 2 and give Maia the shot.

If Woodley wins and Rory wins, it's much easier to give Rory a titleshot. Besides, you wouldn't want to see Woodley/Rory 2. First one was an instant classic.

If Wonderboy wins things are a lot easier no matter who wins Lawler/Woodley.
