If present Khabib can't beat Conor, what does he need to do to improve his chances.

Many mma experts feel that at this time Khabib's game has too many holes for him to do well against someone like Conor.

According to them even fighters like Eddie Alvarez and Chad Mendes who are much better grapplers than Khabib couldn't handle Conor.

So what exactly does Khabib need to do to solve the puzzle that is Conor?

Perhaps if Khabib spent more time training with Rockhold honing his striking it might help him take his game to a whole new level.

Who are these experts? From everything I’ve read Khabib is a heavy favorite, and rightfully so. All he has to do is not get caught.

Who is 'them?'

Khabib is far superior to Eddie or Mendes on the ground.

He gets Conor down, he's there to stay. And McG gets smeshed clear into Bolivian.

To say Eddie and Chad are better grapplers than Khabib is laughable.

Khabib prays to Allah, Conor sits at the table with him. There's just levels to this stuff.

Source? Also I know he wrestled but I wouldn't consider Eddie a grappler.

Continue to play the waiting game, Conor will age and die young due to his extravagant lifestyle. These two may never fight lol.

Khabib could end up being more dangerous than Tony. I think both fighters will be difficult for Conor.

Khabib just could end up mauling him like this.

Present Khabib would man-rape Conor....

This fight will never happen.....

Chad is better. Deal with it.

Put 15 lbs and Chad smokes Khabib. Hell he'd still probably beat him.

Khabib does not have power he has wrestling strength but he beats on his opponents for 3 solid rounds and can not get submissions or TKO's except for Michael Johnson who has quit before.
His smothering looks worse than it is I mean he was dropping punches down from standing on Barboza and Barboza was not going anywhere and although Conor is acting like the south end of a north bound donkey he it tough as far as taking punches. Khabib's only chance is decision or submission period and to get on Conor's level of striking takes many many year if you have the talent.

Casuals seen him smothering Barboza and have made him out to be more than what he is, is he a great wrestler? Absolutely, but can he do amazing shit after his opponent is down other then maintain top control with powerless punches? No

Seriously??? Mendes is a better grappler?? If tiny Mendes was able to have his way with Conor on the ground in the first round of their fight, just think what Khabib would do to him. Conor has a puncher's chance.

Yes, Conor will probably have plenty of opportunities to touch that chin. Won't be good for Khabib

He needs to get too close to get the TD. If he wants to beat Conor he needs a powerful double leg.

Conor beat Mendes on the juice and that dude has a great double leg.

Honestly I dont think Khabib beats Alvarez or Justin. But he just fought so I'm sure its injury/weight fail time again. Dude could be the interim champ but hes just not reliable...like at all.

2 week couch mendes had no problem holding him down

eddie who copped 30 punches had no problem getting connor to the fence

Hell even siver got him onto his butt twice but thanks to ufc magic they didnt count as takedowns.

Khabib has shown he can gameplan and as long as he can not be tempted into standing and banging = bad night for connor.

I rarely hear any actual technical breakdown of the fight beyond "khabib will smash him easily, the fight wont happen"

Conor Is a tough fight for Khabib, just as Khabib Is for Conor. Especially If Khabib insists on continuing to charge forward for takedowns with his chin straight up In the air like he's been doing for his past few fights. Conor Is a counter fighter and he fights very well moving backwards / on the backfoot and he's extremely accurate. Much more so than anyone Khabib has fought. Barboza has great kicks and knees but his boxing Is quite poor and he doesn't respond well to pressure on the feet. Khabib Is a beast but he has definitely shown some holes which I don't think he can afford to make against Conor.

Khabib will almost certainly get the fight down and maul Conor but there will also be many opportunities for Conor to catch him. Barboza and MJ were able to survive for 3 rounds and I would say Conor has far better grappling, particularly from a defensive standpoint. It's an Interesting stylistic fight and It would be silly to sleep on either guy.
