If Poirier beats Miller should Jim move down to featherweight? Even if he wins I don't see him breaking into the top 5 of the LW division. Miller/Stevens or Miller/Edgar would be good fights.

Miller / Edgar already happened. Jim is a career Lightweight, a little late for a division change over thirty fights into 155.

If Jim loses he should retire

I want Jim to win just because I want him to be successful and retire on a high note.

I know, i just think at his age and stage of career an L means he wont ever come near title contention.

He should stay in it to break some records. Holds the record for most sub attempts.

He almost retired before the Gomi fight, so we know his career is winding down. Doubt he goes to 145 at this stage of his career. If he wins I think he'll keep fighting until he loses, but if he loses I think he calls it quits.

He talked about moving to welterweight because he finds the weight cut difficult. It's surprising seeing as how he looks like a very small lightweight. So I'd imagine featherweight is out of the question.

He should just hang it up if there are no more Gomi/Lauzon/Sanchez type fighters around. Maybe Ross Person fits the bill. If he did retire, I'd have no complaints whatsoever, he had a great career and was in the mix at lightweight when lightweight was on fire.

A win for Jim would be huge. Also, pretty sure he has said there was no way he could make 145.

It's too late in his career to be thinking about a change in division imo. He's possibly got another run in him at LW after his next loss. After that he should just focus on fun fights at LW imo.
