I can't think of any other fight where emotions were so high, where the guy who clearly should win, doesn't win. GSP losing to Matt Serra was a big upset, and I guess Couture/Silva was a big upset. But really, I don't see any way that Diaz wins this fight. And it's happening in GSP's homeland, and this fight, supposedly has more emotion for GSP than any other fight. Has there ever been a bigger upset? Not in my opinion.

I mean GSP really hates to lose, and of course he hated losing to Matt Serra. But imagine if he loses to someone who he hates as much as Diaz? It would mean A LOT to GSP to lose this fight.

What are you talking about. Diaz winning is barely into upset territory.

You should have more respect for Nick Diaz.

Damn, that's a first for me.

Serra will still be a bigger upset. Hell, i even thing Overeem/BF was a bigger upset than this would be. I know a lot of people would disagree, but i thought Overeem was going to walk right through BF.

I had the same exact feeling leading up to Silva/Bonnar fight.

But I knew all along what will be the result of the fight.

GSP just seems to have the typical tools to beat Diaz. But it's far from a huge upset imo. People have been wanting this fight because they feel can be a great fight, not because it could be a one sided beating. So I don't see how it's such an upset if Diaz did win. There's no way it'd be bigger than Serra/GSP.

Matt the Terra Serra!

P.S. TS, it's Tim SYLVIA. Silva the is the name of 90% of the brazilian fighters.

I can't see any possible line of reasoning, that would make GSP losing to Diaz a bigger upset than GSP losing to Serra. Like, at all.

Nope. Diaz is very capable of beating GSP, it just isn't likely. No one saw Serra coming, he was still a huge underdog in the rematch.

I don't think much else will top the Serra vs GSP upset.

Maybe like Gomi vs Cain but that isn't realistic.

Wasn't it $100 to win $1,100?

If I could go back in time I would sell everything I owned and put that money on Serra lol

overeem BF was fucking shocking... i fell on my knees for like 30 seconds, in disbelief...

fuckin there goes the k-1 title, that shit is meaningless now! way to go reem!

Griffin/Rua and Jardine/Chuck, were pretty huge upsets imo.

I have to admit.... I agree.

I've always been a Diaz fan.

Unfortunately also a GSP fan.

While I think Georges is definitively the deserved favorite to completely count Nick out is ridiculous.

I'll be on-edge for the whole fight.

griffin looked gr8 for that shogun fight. that was griffin at the height of his powers, i wasn't shocked when he performed well.

Actually if you just say the words Diaz sounds like he should be able to wipe the floor with GSP. Diaz has better stand up, much better bjj is the more aggressive fighter. GSP has the better wrestling and is the smarter fighter. Somehow that is always more than enough for GSP though.

That doesn't make it, any less of an upset.

Nobody was giving Griffin a chance going into that fight.
