If Nate were to beat Conor, how would Alvarez/Diaz do on PPV?

There's all this talk of who should get the title shot out of Tony Ferguson and Khabib, but what about Nate Diaz?

Obviously he hasn't earned the shot on sporting merit, but Alvarez/Diaz is a bigger fight than Alvarez/Ferguson or Alvarez/Khabib. The biggest stumbling block on making the fight would be whether Nate actually wants it (assuming he beats Conor). He specifically insisted that he only wanted Conor at UFC 200, and he's said he doesn't give a shit about titles. But he does give a shit about money, which leads to the question in my thread title...

How would Eddie Alvarez vs Nate Diaz for the Lightweight title do on PPV? With a victory over Conor, would Nate be a PPV draw in his own right? Could this fight break 500k buys?

Who wins this fight? I think Diaz wins on the feet, but I think Alvarez would use his wrestling, and we all know how Diaz bros do against wrestlers.

No, it could do good numbers on FOX though.

It wouldn't sell shit. I'd want to see it but it wouldn't sell shit.

Well it depends, are you expecting all the drama queens that swing from Conors balls to become fans of mma?

It would sell better than Eddie vs any other LW he could fight. I would bet it clears 800,000 if it had some decent names underneath it. Nate is a name now and he'll be an even bigger one once he stops Conor... again.

I think Eddie wants to engage and not wrestle stall his way to victory and if that's the case, Nate will beat him up on the feet and finish him on the ground.

Nate is fighting a 145er... Competition wise, the winner of their fight has zero claim to a title shot at 155. That being said, it's the UFC, anything could happen.

Eddie would become the first fighter to win and lose a belt on fight pass.

It's hard to say where Nate's popularity stands right now. He marketed himself perfectly with the previous McGregor fight, but since he's fighting him again we won't learn much about how much he sells on his own yet.

Sh*t. They could put it on the prelims.

Probably not well. Nate suddenly won't steal Conors fans. They aren't much different than WWE fans and did Cain or Overeem steal Lesnars fans? Nope.

Nate seems to have a decent following with all the publicity he's getting from these Connor fights I wouldn't be surprised if it did alright.

I think it would need another title fight to do really good numbers. Otherwise maybe 400-500k. I'm not really sure.

People love Conor. Not as much Nate Diaz. I routed for Diaz in the first fight but I think I'm picking Conor in the rematch.

Depends on the undercard
I guess around 500k-650k

Eddie doesn't have the drawing power Nate has, and that would keep the PPV numbers down. Good fighter for sure, but no real drawing power at the moment. Nate would bring the crowd but probably lose the fight the way Pettis did...being smothered against the cage all night.
