If Nate Diaz was as dedicated to his MMA career as Conor is, how would a third fight go?

Nate has been semi-retired for the last 5 years since he KO’d Maynard. He’s more focused on triathalons, bicycle rides, and smoking copious amounts of weed with his homies. He finished Conor with no training camp and coming off the beach in Mexico 10 days prior to UFC 196.

Conor then bragged about his training camp for the rematch, saying things like people would study it for years to come. Nate comes in the same way as always, not checking leg kicks and brawling with no strategy. Fight ends up as a majority decision 48-47, 48-47, 47-47.

I think it’s safe to say Conor is more obsessed and dedicated to being the best ever. How would their third fight go if Nate tried as hard to evolve and develop his game?

I'll take Nate in a third fight regardless.

  3. Nate is a bad match up for Conman. Nate via Conor panic wrestling in the 3rd fight.

Conor would finish him. I think he'd finsh him with GNP after dropping him several times.

Conor wins by KO in 2nd round, especially if they fought at 155.

This guy gets it. You're right my friend. Although I actually think Nate would train his ass off for a third fight.

I'll take Conor inside the distance

He was very, very apprehensive when given the chance to finish in the second fight

I think his boxing may even be a little improved at this point

Nates got a lot of miles on him and chins don't generally improve

But Conor registered three knockdowns in the rematch and never attempted to go for a finish. What’s up with that?

Considering Nate is already punch drunk, I think it's a good thing he's been inactive the last 5 years.

Conor haters wisely realizing the Khabib fight is already over, and the only hope they have to dethrone King Conor is Nate. Must say, they're getting smarter!

If I made $5mil off a single fight I would be way more focused on smoking as much weed as possible than I would training for another fight . That's probably the only thing I have in common with a Diaz bro.

i think if Nate trained as hard as Conor he wouldnt ever make 155 again.

and he would look huge at 170 and tear Conor's head off.

but might as well write that scenario in a comicbook because itll never happen.

He doesnt want that lifestyle and thats ok as long as he is happy.

Nate panic wrestled in the second fight. Nate also panic clinched alot in between Conor smashing his face. At 155 Nate gets smoked. He won't be able to lay his fat skinny cabo 200lb frame on Conor to wear him down at lw. Nate has a skinny chicken neck at lw too (see Michael Johnson fight)...no way that's going to absorb Conor power in 3rd fight. His ass was already sat down 3 times at 170lbs.

    I agree.

Frankly I think Nate sandbagged with the expectation of a rubbermatch.
