If Muhammad Ali is the gretest

Way to run, Big Brown, and congratulations go out to Dutrow on your last fucking place finish!

*hefty claps*

haha sharkey...you beat me to the punch...i'm glad the horse is okay but that arrogant pig is prolly really enjoying eating his words right about now ...too bad for casino drive...it would've been his belmont probably and a record for siblings in the belmont.

I'm happy as a pure racing fan that we didn't get a TC winner who doesn't deserve to be named among the greats before him.

btw. did they explain what happened? i only saw the race and knew that they patched his hoof.

Curlin would eat this pony for breakfast

Well, I haven't seen anything since the television coverage of it, but all of the announcers & reporters had made mention of the hoof, being steroid free, the hot weather, being kicked, etc., etc., but they seemed to be giving the steroid issue the most thought from what I gathered, as they reported that the horse was fine right and walking with no discomfort after the race and even shortly after when the adrenalin died down (which is great news). Maybe they did when I took myself away from the t.v., but I don't recall them making mention of what may be one of the most pivotal factors though, and that's how they breed & train the horses nowadays, which is concentrated more on speed rather than the stamina. Three races in five weeks, with the third one being the endurance test that leaves half of them puking at the end...That's tough to do nowadays with the way these horses are bred, and it's no wonder so many triple crown aspirants have came up short in the third leg of it after winning the first two. Also 90+ degrees and bairly any sweat on the horse?

You know, it's pretty useless to say this now with him being scratched (which is ok and commendable, as it shows that his connections aren't just in it for the money...he'll be back), but I was fairly confident and was thinking that this was Casino Drive's race to lose this year (save that day I was speaking to you, I've been touting this av & sig since the Preakness), due to his pedigree and his quality shown in limited viewing of him in his previous two races with one being at this track. But I do admit that a lot of that had to do with all the question marks I had surrounding Big Brown going into this race...the steroid issue, the hoof issue, the fatigue factor, the competition he faced, the TC history, etc. I just had too many questions regarding Big Brown going into it, and as you very well know, a Triple Crown winner has to have everything go exactly right if he is to have any chance on winning that honour.

And Dutrow?

Heck, any other year I'm cheering for the horse with the chance to take the Triple Crown to actually win it, but I got to admit, this year seeing that sweating & slimey douchebag seeming to be in such pain after the race brought a smile to my face. So many arrogant things to say before the race, and after his horse pulls off a performance like that we get...nothing? No comment? Not one single word, Rick?

Hahaha, ya fucker.

Oh, and at 2:29:69 or whatever the final time was on a "fast" track today, Curlin would eat half of these horses for breakfast, Big Brown included, stop and poop them out, and still cross the finish line first before the other half of the field came around the final turn.

btw. did they explain what happened?

Just saw some post television coverage and Dutrow said Big Brown was "fine" and "OK" as of now, with Desormeaux saying he was "just tired" during the race.

i've never seen a horse perform that badly and just be tired...to not even try on the final stretch with the triple crown on the line...i would've guessed there was definately something wrong with him.It looked like KD had him in position for his usual burst but damn...he had nothing to give.
I guess it was a good call by KD then to not drive the horse into the ground if he felt it.

btw. did you see KD after the post race interview? He said that he can't even begin to imagine what freaks the previous TC winners had to be...he looked damn shocked.
Funny how some people as you mentioned before were bringing up Secretariat comparisons. They just aren't built like that no longer.

Well, Desormeaux did bring Big Brown across the line to at least finish, and with all the money invested in the horse's future, you just got to know that he wouldn't have done that if he even detected the least bit of an injury problem to the horse, whether it be the hoof or anything else. He's pulling Big Brown up to a complete stop and immediately if he's detecting something, but because he didn't, he does what is required by the rules and crosses the line. Due to him not limping or anything and with the way he was reacting, the vets, Dutrow, Desormeaux, etc., all said that he looked injury free after the race too, so heck, I just don't know.

The race announcers/reporters did make mention that it was possible that Big Brown may have been bleeding inside, but I thought I heard Dutrow say something about taking a scope to him afterwards, and finding nothing inside, with Big Brown not even coughing or anything like that.

It's puzzling to be sure, but I'm sure we'll here at leas heart some kind of explanation either later today or tomorrow. Until then, maybe it's entirely possible that the horse just didn't have it due to him being just too fatigued from the last month of running, and we've seen one of the biggest choke jobs in recent horse racing memory...I mean, going into it I know I had lots of questions regarding Big Brown's stamina over this length of race and after running those two previously, as my wife would tell you, and even when Big Brown was still looking reasonably good coming into and then starting around the last turn (before KD asked him to go those few times with no reaction), I was telling my wife to "Nah, watch for the horse in pink. Watch for the horse in pink." (had to simplify Denis of Cork for her, as she's only watched a couple of races) when she stated that Big Brown had it in the bag at that point.

Anyways, we'll see what else comes out of Dutrow's mouth with regards to this performance, but yeah, I did catch that statement by Desormeaux, and he's exactly right. Those horses back then were some monsters, and they also ran against other monsters on a regular basis. Heck, look at the last Triple Crown winner, Affirmed, and who he had to run against during his fairly long running career...The Bid, Slew, Alydar of course (like ten friggin times!), Exceller, etc. Shit, that's some friggin serious, serious competition right there, and Affirmed still won three quarters of his races, and only finished out of the money maybe once in over 25 career starts. Five starts coming into the Belmont against what is probably the weakest crop of three year-olds in recent memory, and these turds were already hailing Big Brown as the second coming of Secretariat. I mean, Jesus. Yeah, like yourself, not having to listen to that crap anymore is probably the best thing about Big Brown coming up short yesterday.

what about people like michael schumacker are they considered athletes motor sports drivers would have just as much pressure to deal with thats my 2 cents worth

michael jordan, tiger woods, fedor emelianenko, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Wayne Gretsky, Tony Hawk, Apidej Sit Hrun, Carl Lewis, Pele, Joe Montana.

The End.

HAHAHAHA!

I wasn't even angry after that fight, I was just annoyed.
I just wanted to follow Forrestt around for the rest of the night saying, "Seriously?.... come on! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!" While he hung his head low.
