If Jones loses in his return

Discussion in 'UFC Discussion' started by Bulletproof Acc, Aug 31, 2015.

  1. Will it be as satisfying as when he was an active champ? This question is obviously for the people that doesn't/didnt like him.

I think most sane people realize just how valuable Jones is now that he's gone. If you deny that there is a noticeable void in terms of greatness in the LHW and HW division, you're delusional.

a Loss is always a loss, and he still is the champ... Dont let Cormier fool you. Lets just hope for Gus to beat Cormier, so he can give a great fight against jon.

It'd be crazy if Gus beats DC, Rumble comes and KOs Gus again, then Jones gets beaten by Rumble.

DC is my least favorite LHW

It would've been better had he been champ. Now, I don't care.

Jones comes back even meaner than before. Like in Return of the Jedi when Luke showed back up and was all serious and no joking it.

It doesn't count of course. Just like when Ali got beat by Fraser after his suspension

  12. Perfect gif haha.

And lol at the generic Bones fans getting all defensive with the "it wont happen" comments. I said IF not when. Don't you have any imagination? My question wasnt even about wether he will lose or not. Get outta here with that.

Also, it very well could happen.

  13. ... Fraser's win against Ali counted. Big time.

DC did more damage to Jones than Gus did, and its not even debatable. Jones was chasing Gus's little happy feet butt the whole night. DC had Jones backing up, and landed some heavy, clean blows. Gus landed some clipping blows that scored pts.

Gus got too much credit for avoiding TD's, and a few putter patter shots.

You know when he was up and coming and he beat Shogun and they announced the title shot and he fell to his knees in joy ... even my wife fell in love with the guy.

But now after the cocaine test fail and the rental car thing ... I would be very satisfied if he came back to lose.

But honestly he should never be allowed to fight again.

It always bothers me when a dominant fighter, who has been sidelined for a long time, returns to an immediate title shot. It's such a shit context. I prefer when they have a tune-up fight first, so we can judge beforehand if they've lost a step. That way if/when Jones wins or loses, there won't be the cascade of posts claiming he isn't the same and/or that a shoddier version of Jones is still the best, or etc.

To answer your question, it'd mean slightly less, but still would be the most valuable win to be had at LHW in the last 7 years.

For those that wanted him to lose? I dont think it would be as satisfying but I am just assuming.

    LOL perfect response :icon_lol:

I can't stand Jones as a person but no one defeats this guy except for himself.
