I'm not saying he deserves it, but all the humiliation he would've had to endure should be worth something LOL. He gotta go out there and promote a fight where he got his ass handed to him. He cant trash talk in this one because Nate's gonna throw his victory in his face at every turn. He cant try the flinch thing anymore because knows Diaz isn't a punk. I don't know if its true that he asked for 10 mil, but c'mon dude, not after a loss like that. I also don't know what he was getting for this fight but he should've been reasonable in his demands and he probably would've got it. Oh well, cough up the belt and lets move on.

I'm a Conor-hater.

But if the guy is bringing in that much PPV and $ the UFC's way, then yes of course he deserves more money

If he got wrecked by Nate in the rematch for a second time, his drawing power would definitely be weakened, so it would make sense to capitalize on that gamble to the maximum degree.

All he talked about before the Nate fight was how much money he makes and how he's the highest paid fighter in the history of MMA by far. The UFC gives him whatever fight he wants whenever he wants it, was going to let him challenge for a 2nd belt when there were challengers waiting for the first one, then he loses to a replacement and they give him a mulligan and made up an interim belt just so he wouldn't have to defend his title. Conor is the last person who should claim he's treated unfairly and ask for even more coming off a loss.

If you are bringing in 1 million+ PPV buys you bet you're ass he deserves 10 million he actually deserves more. But this is UFC they have been ripping off and raping fighters for years.

Not sure you get how slavery works...

Even Dana hinted he didn't like McGoat's choice of a rematch with Diaz because he could lose. If you are the main draw you call the shots most times.

Why? The fight was the biggest since UFC 100. He should ask for all he can. Every fighter should.

guess he can wait out his contract for a few years then bring in 1 million ppv buys all by himself then.

I don't think anyone could blame a fighter for asking for all they can get. What most people don't like is when someone agrees to a contract then demands more before fulfilling it.

obviously he should get paid - but not what he's asking.

He was made to quit by a hand picked replacement who was stylistically a dream match up to showcase his supposed "no man can handle' left hand power.

The aura is gone. Certainly refusing to promotion for the biggest card with the lame duck excuse of it being unreasonable is indicative of his selfish and quitting ways. Having to face Nate day after day would pretty much drive him to find ways to quit even before the fight (and in all honesty he quit again).

Not such a big guy when he's the one who has to squirm and take verbal heat.

Just because you ask doesn't mean you're going to get it. He lost in a humiliating fashion...he lost a bargaining chip there. You want more money, how bout winning on the rematch and you can ask far more bigger with the claim that the loss was a fluke?

I guess...but he is making millions per fight already.

He needs to realize 3 things.

1. The sport isn't as big as boxing.
2. He is no Floyd.
3. The mansion, cars, lifestyle that he has bought into takes money, a lot of it. He can't afford to retire and he will be back if he wants to maintain that playboy life.

Not everything is about you, Conor. Had everyone fooled that you were something great, yet at the first sign of adversity, since you weren't getting paid what you thought you should, you took your ball and went home.

I'm glad your last fight was Nate Diaz slapping the shit out of you, before choking you until you quit. You showed your true colors, and it's a big yellow streak down your back.

Unbelievable.

Not sure how I feel. I always support fighters that campaign for more cash, but you have to honor your contracts. He's already making piles of cash, and if he maintains a good relationship with the company, he has a job for life. Now he's burning bridge's, costing the company money and screwing over his fans.

He likes to present himself as a high roller and all, but even Floyd never went back on his word and tried to renegotiate after signing for a fight. That's so small time. Prove yourself, go and beat Diaz in one of the UFC's biggest events in history, and then talk about numbers.

How about just asking for the money now? Why does he have to win first? He's a draw now; they put him as headliner for a reason.

UFC don't pay their fighters based on win-streaks or competition faced, they don't even pay them based on belts held. It has and always will be draw, and Conor's a draw now. Why not reap the benefits?

If they say no he doesn't fight and UFC 200 goes into disarray. They also can't rely on his future fights to raise revenue. That's his bargaining chip.

I'd rather he fight, so I want them to say yes.

Nobody is asked to do more press than Conor. He always delivers and he's added value to the entire UFC as a brand in the process. It's easy to do press when you're annihilating everyone you face, but when you're fighting a guy who just beat the shit out of you and you're not sure how you're going to win the rematch, the last thing you want to do is fly 14 hours to shoot a silly commercial.

Conor has two priorities, 1. Win the fight, 2. Hype the fight. Winning has to come first. If he keeps losing his drawing power disappears, which is bad for him and bad for the UFC. The UFC is putting him in a bad spot by pushing him to do press when he's not even ready for the fight yet. I imagine the conversation went like this...

Dana - Conor, we need you to come to Vegas for some press and to shoot some promos.

Conor - Can't. I'm training.

Dana - No, we absolutely need you to do this.

Conor - Pay me ten million dollars to do it then.

Dana - We're not going to do that. You're contractually obligated to do this.

Conor via Twitter - I've decided to retire young.
