If I put down $100 on Jones and $100 down on Cormier is it a win-win?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...oubles-his-money-without-knowing-players.html

"Betfair, a London-based company that enables bettors to wager against each other online, matched almost 50 million pounds ($82 million) of bets on the 2012 final in which Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal. Djokovic is an 8-11 favorite to win a fourth straight title in Melbourne with U.K. bookmaker William Hill Plc, meaning a successful $11 wager would return $8 plus the original stake."

Don't say it can't be done boys

Maybe you should spend your money on an education. Just sayin'

If you would have put $1000 on Cormier when he was +245 and then put $2113 on Jones now that he is at -158 (best odds I can find right now), you would have guaranteed yourself to win $337 no matter what the outcome.

You can do that right now on McGregor / Siver.

Bet $100 @ 760 on SportBet. Bet $612 @ -612 SportsInt.

Siver wins = $48
McGregor wins = $0

You can change the numbers, obviously...

That's why we should always wear a condom, folks , because people like TS get born.

that's rich

Guys TS is a teacher!! Let that sink in for a second.

This bumbling tard is teaching your children math.

Oddsmakers love guys like you.

In theory, if you're using separate books and are great at reading and prediciting line movement and you have impeccable timing, there is a sliver of hope that a situation occurs in which profiting in this situation is feasible.

But you're not that guy, and you've just found a way to always pick a winner, and a way to guarantee losses.

Watch out for those no contests and draws though.

you guys are dumb. TS is smart. its called HEDGING your bet. its the smart safe play. THe guys on wallstreeet who run HEDGEFUNDS do the exact same thing, and they make millions.

hedgefunding at its finest. I've studied the market and know it well.

I'm beginning to worry that you guys are being serious.

Yes, you can bet on both sides and make money by hedging, but ONLY if the line moves in the way you predict it will.

It only really works by doing it when the line first gets released though - before money starts going down (which is why sportsbooks will limit your early bets to low levels, and also leave a bigger gap in the lines).

You're essentially trying to find the difference in what the odds maker thinks the odds are, and what the public think it should be.

You can't do it by placing both bets at the same time though, and not with the odds outlined in the OP. It's certainly not a license to print money either. If you bet wit that objective you'll almost certainly lose out more often than not because the ROI when you do get it right is normally going to be very low.

Shit man, sounds fail proof, just up the numbers 1,000 fold, you can't lose, just break even.

"Referee Herb Dean has declared this fight a no contest."

"Ladies and gentleman, this fight is a draw."

I had never thought about it, but you might be able to make money betting on both sides but only if it's at different places ( or different times) with different odds. That's not what you were talking about but it would work if you find the right odds.

if the favourite and underdog are reversed. i think

NCs are refunded. This is a popular betting method, but it's rarely available, because the underdog (the +) is rarely greater than the favourite (the -). This is a quintessential arb. You can win a very small amount by betting both guys. Yes if it's a draw you lose both bets.

Edit: These sites also have caps, especially in the beginning, so you can't bet that much anyway.

So, if I understand this correctly, the odds on Siver are +660 and McGregor is at -612. In this case if you put $100 on Siver you should put $648 on McGregor and you will win $6 as long as it isn't a draw.
