If guys like cormier are considered mentally tough, why do they struggle with weight?

Seriously. How hard is it to go on a strict diet for 3 months and healthily lose around 20 lbs of pure bodyfat? Im not a pro athlete, but as a bodybuilder I have gone from as heavy as 230 in the off season to 175 lbs shredded 5% bodyfat contest shape in around 16 weeks, that's 35 lbs of fat gone around 15 lbs is water weight. I find it utterly embarrassing that a professional athlete at the top level of their sport cant put their chicken leg and gravy down and enough weight to be at their most competitive division.

He didnt struggle with weigth, he struggle with weight in the olympics because he did a big cut and his liver failed him.

But why the fuck are you saying this if they guy did miss weigth once in all his 205 figths.

Because many people loves to eat. Its hard to stick to a clean diet all year around. DC is only 5'10 and carrying much excessive fat. A clean diet and new routine could help him lose the weight easily.

Entire MMA world knows how much he loves his popeye chicken.

As a bodybuilder, you should know there is such a thing an Endomorph.

Cormier could focus on nothing but cardio and diet and he would still have a barrel chest and a dumpy mid-section. It's just how the guy is built. You can't change genetics. It has nothing to do with discipline.

Popeye's Louisiana kitchen is pretty goddamn good. I don't know why KFC is the larger chain, their chicken is dry and bland. The sides suck too

And how did you do in your fight?

Hendricks is another fighter that struggles with weight (he said so himself post fight against Lawler II). he loves to eat too much...but he said he will start to change his diet and keep weight down (or not carry so much fat) although he loves eating, but he loves being champ more.

If your a bodybuilder and you can go from 230 to 175 then we both know you use drugs. Cynomel, T3-T4, clen, and alot of other shit that mma fighters cant use or they will be caught by a drug test. there are three body types, and some like DC will never be cut up.EVER! but he makes weight, And that is all that matters.

Also why doesn't jones add mass to his legs. Body builders can

Obviously he's never going to be able to have a 8-pack but if you don't think Cormier could cut off a lot of his excess weight you're crazy.

Exactly. Pretty sure they don't let just any fat guy into the Olympics...

Hell, Cain might very well be the best conditioned athlete in the UFC but he's still packing that baby fat.

He wont ever look shredded, but he can very realistically drop some excess fat he carries with a cleaner diet.

do think he will always "skip leg day" as one main reason he makes 205 so easily is because of his skinny legs. With his frame and upper body...if he had muscular legs he would prob have to fight at HW (or have a much tougher cut to 205)

Seeing as you're a bodybuilder, you know how drained and fucked you feel when you're cutting.

It's not exactly the best state to be in whilst you're preparing for a fight.

TS wasn't talking about cutting, rather a cleaner diet to drop weight naturally b4 the final cut.

Complete BS

DC wrestled - and was cut - at 184 lb in the NCAA final as a senior during college

Even allowing for his endomorph body type & allowing some muscle growth since then, he should be 205 lb cut - not chubby with love handles
