Gunnar looked incredible tonight, like we've never seen him. If Gunnar Nelson's performance is any indication of the progress made in Iceland, everyone that took part will surely benefit. I expect Conor to be incredibly focused next fight and showcase a new set of skills. Clearly them working together in isolation is a great formula for success.

How about we talk about Gunnar, and not make this about Conor for once?

he looked great, put on more muscle too so he could hang at 170 I think.

He looked physically different after "isolation" where I'm sure testing was hard to conduct. He looked way better than ever, its rather odd. Still, can't say it wasn't impressive and just hard word but seems suspect at the least. He looked like Connor at moments with his stance and kicks.

Don't doubt it. Conor has plenty of time to become a much better fighter than he is. Dude is young.

Also, it's a great thing that Conor isn't fighting right away after being hurt for the first time. Being out of the fight was not a bad thing at all. He now has more time to come with a better cardio and everything else.

Gunnar isn't a big WW. No reason for that. Maybe he was lazy before, he doesn't like to cut but he could make LW if he wanted and it would to great for him since he can be something bigger there.

Yeah I agree.

I was impressed by his stand up, especially since that was where Albert was supposed to have an advantage.

Soul Intact Gunni(@Dart Feld) coming for that belt.

Gunnar looked in control confident and like he did exactly what he set out to do

3-4 steps ahead of anything Einstein had to offer

I have to admit Gunnar surprised me, I did not think at all he would be able to stand with Einstien the way he did, Kudos to his victory.

Gunnar really did look impressive, but he usually does imo. still dont understand how anyone viewed him as an underdog in that fight?

The only indication I take from this is that Demian Maia is a beast.

I really liked the way he was setting up his striking. He had Albert worried about the TD and was making him very tentative. Great strategy by Gunni, who has a striking base in karate, but we forget about that. Tumenov never got a chance to get anything going and Gunni was aggressive and landed some big shots, but never let him not worry about the TD and fear of the ground by mixing it in regularly. It was just a matter of time before he got himself in position for a submission attempt. Gunni got written off because he lost to Maia. But, come on, that was Demian.

to be honest i thought tumenov would win cause he looked so good against larkin who is tough and gunnar lost to rick story and was coming off being dominated to maia and all i saw of him recently was playing touch butt with that dork in the park, you know, the ponytail dork. Gunnar proved me wrong though.

I suppose Gunnar's performance tonight was that styles make fights and Tumenov isn't that good on the ground. Still, amazing breakthrough for Gunnar on the ground, right?

He looked a lot more muscular. same stand up style he's been using and just as reckless. It worked out tonight, but he needs to find a way to defend his chin when he darts in like he does. The heavier hitting WWs won't let him get away with that.

Gunner Gatekeeper should be working out a plan to make 155 if he ever wants a chance at a UFC strap.

I like gunner but i doubt they have been tested for peds in isolation.
