Let's say prime gsp was the one that fought Condit or Hendricks. Where would he be ranked in the ufc MW rankings right now. I think realistically top 5 sounds fair?

He loses to the following most certainly:

romero: better everywhere
weidman - bigger wrestler with better more brutal gnp
costa? due to roids and size

50 50 fights;

whittaker
rockhold
gastulem

imo he beats adresanya as he isn't better than prime condit and Condit is around his size despite fighting in the weight class below. Antonio carlos jnr I am not sure about but I think gsp can neutralize him. jacare is a tough fight but prime gsp can hold his own and win the standup. he beats branch and Brunson comfortably.

It's almost annoying how underrated Whittaker gets on here.

Who gives a fuck if his 2nd fight with Romero was a controversial decision. He decisively won the 1st fight and the 2nd fight was arguably a draw. There's a reason why GSP ducked the ever living fuck out of Whittaker - he knew he'd get put in a casket.

He is naturally thin and doesn't carry much fat. The biggest he's ever been was when he fought Bisping. He weighed less than 195 in the octogon and looked bloated as hell.

I mean, as skillfull as he is, for sure he could compete with most of the top guys. But he would literally be the smallest MW out there.

GSP's BJJ is crazy good, it was already top level before, but now with the time off he really got to a super high level. He's tapping out Danaher's death squad guys. In the whole middleweight roster, only Jacaré could out-grapple him.
Most technical components of GSP's striking are far better than Romero's. He deflects punches well, he protects his chin, he gauges distances well, always threatens every type of hit, he has imagination and good analysis. He can throw any type of shot. Romero has good timing and power. But all he has is a hook. GSP has pound-for-pound the best jab in the history of MMA, along with Mousasi. The superman punch should be renamed after him. He has kicks. Good kicks. Where are Romero's spinning heel kicks?
And in wrestling, GSP would not get massively overscaled.
And as for cardio, GSP wrecks Romero. Fought 5 round fights all his career. As for chin and heart, meh, whatever.
GSP would win 8 out of 10 fights vs Romero.

GSP used to go toe-to-toe with Rashad back in his prime. He'd beat any MW. And he's a natural lightweight. GOAT, right after the great Chael Sonnen of course.
