If Edgar can get a win against Stephens at 205, is that gonna be enough to grant him a shot at Dom?

Dana said Edgar needs to be coming off a win to get a shot at Dom.... Is Stephens a big enough name to grant him that shot? How do you guys see this fight going down?
 
I don't know if Edgar should jump in line of contenders with one win at featherweight but I am literally boggled at how this fight plays out and how Frankie will be at 135 it might look like the dillashaw fight but I think Frankie's more accurate and is the better wrestler than Dom toss up fight
 
No Dana has a history of making Frankie work for his title shots.
 
as a frankie fan I hope so.but it would make about as much sense to fight dom now than to fight again at 145 first

yeah, I´m against fighters getting a ts right away just because they have a biig name or a history in the sport, or because they´re from a bigger division. But Edgar said he´s not cutting down unless it´s for a shot at Dom. But if he got a win at a big name at bw, for example, TJ, would that be enough to give him the ts in your opinion?

Oh if beats tj for sure definitely how can someone argue against that?
 
This is his chance to make a name off Stephens. Dana would be dumb to deny him if he wins.
 
He should beat a top 5 BW for a shot at the BW championship.

Except the time when Edgar fought Aldo coming off of 2 losses and no wins in the division.

Edgar will easily 30-27 UD Stephens.

Doesn´t Stephen also have a wrestling base? How do you think Edgar is gonna win so easily? Also, I know Edgar has tremendous chin, but Stephens hit harder than anybody Edgar´s ever faced, IIRC.
 
He'll never make 205, even with lead weights in his pocket. Would pay to see it though ;)

A lot of non-wrestlers have been able to take Stephens down and plus I think Edgar can beat him standing for 3 rounds.
 
I'm pulling for Stephens, I think its time we got from fresh blood in the title picture

Pettis outwrestled Stephens. Edgar is a much better wrestler than Pettis.

Stephens may hit hard but he isn't a great striker. I think Edgar will win the striking by a solid margin.
 
The Answer would figure out The Dominator. We've seen him on steaks once he switches to salads i see Frankie moving to FLW taking that belt. 3 weight CHAMP!
 
As much as I'd like to see that fight, no, that does not qualify him to fight for the Bantamweight belt.
 
Honestly it shouldn't be. But, he's getting up there in age & he was on a hell of a streak before losing to aldo so why not. Personally I think tj should get it but who knows what will happen.
 
BW is so fun right now. I'd love to see Edgar v. Cruz, but I also love the ideas of both of those guys in with TJ, Cody, Linekar, and Dodson. Should be an interesting next 6ish months for the division
