Probably not. But the dude I blame the most is Alvarez. His worst performance in the history of MMA was what catapulted Conor to the Mayweather fight and all the BS that came after.
Would anyone even be talking about McGregor?

You're really obsessed with Conor.
You seem to enjoy it.
You're not wrong. Eddie is so much better than that and he shit the bed horribly. He was legit shook.
Seriously. His skill set should've at least made it competitive
To be fair his UFC run was lack luster compared to the rest of his career before then as crazy as that sounds
All his wins leading up to the belt were close snoozers. The RDA win he was losing until he caught RDA and starched him. Somewhat Ironically that was his best performance
If he had gone the snooze route vs Conor maybe he beats him. Who knows maybe he underestimated him.
I'm glad that he did win the belt though. He's like the only dude to win belts in other orgs and then win when coming to UFC (non-interim)

Eddie is good, but for Conor, Eddie was stylistically the best matchup for him by far among the top LW's. An excellent striker against a technical brawler who gets hurt in almost every fight. Conor also had height and significant reach over Eddie. I remember Conor looking noticeably bigger than Eddie. The Conor who schooled Eddie is the same Conor who got finished by short notice diaz in less than 2 rounds and then went on to barely win a decision in the rematch. A rematch where he ran away from diaz multiple times in multiple rounds. Just from the Diaz fights I knew Conor was going to school Eddie.
Point is, styles make fights and 2016 Conor is overrated on this forum, some think he is some mythical near unbeatable fighter because he dominated a guy who he had a stylistic favor over on top of height and reach.
RDA and Pettis had similar excellent dominating performances against Prime Cowboy (who beat Eddie) and they aren't seen as this mythical near unbeatable fighter. Which is crazy considering RDA wrecked Cowboy, Benson, Nate, and Pettis.
RDA lost to Eddie bcuz of a lack of nutritionist (which he has now) in addition to passing out the night before the fight and a terrible weight cut. He should not have been cleared to fight against Eddie that night.
