If DC was dominating the division 20 years prior to Jon and retired before he came on the scene, EVERYONE would be saying prime DC would be too much for Jon, DC would get a single on Jon's skinny legs and smother him on the ground, his take down defense would be impregnable for Jon, his hands are too quick etc etc but now that Jon has actually defeated him twice in his prime, all the basement dwellers are saying DC was too small, too old, overrated, this, that lol. Funny how hindsight works.

Sure.. I guess thats why hypothetical match ups between GOATs from different eras are bullshit

What's crazy is Jon was throwing DC around like nothing.

DC is the second best LHW in the world, and was in the best shape of his MMA life. Unfortunatly for him he was in the same era as the best LHW of all time. DC is the Smokin Joe Frazier of his time, great but always 2nd best!
P.S. I know Frazier beat Ali once, but lost twice to the Greatest and then was demolished by George Forman. Second best to both of those great champions.

Prime DC.

Not 35/8 year old, veteran of rough weight cuts, kidney failure, injury, and two decades of athletic wear and tear at the elite level.

Obviously Jon fought him at his MMA best, but physicality is a different story.

I agree. Any "GOAT" from this current era would beat any "GOAT" from 20 years ago. It's a different game now. I mean shit, Royce Gracie used to choke people out using his GI in matches

Prime DC was in Strikeforce, in my opinion. He was more physically imposing and hadn't sustained much damage from wars at that time

Exactly. Can you imagine if they were the same age when they fought? Could be a different story.

ofc DC is with his 38 years not in his prime ... lmao. people cant be that dumb. Wladimir is way past his prime, but still a good boxer. Buffon with his 40 years still top 3, but also waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of his prime.

This is basically what we're currently seeing from the Fedor-cult. DC is a better, blacker version of Fedor. Jones vs prime Fedor wouldn't even be competitive. Jones is too good in all areas.

ok lets play this game <Lmaoo><45><Lmaoo><45> in which things DC is better than fedor? some xamples please? striking and submissions? which area. .. ufc/pride?i know its poitnless, since there are 1000 threads about it, but doesnt change one thing <Moves> fedor still could be as dangerous as back then, but i know that the support (training/money and other stuff) has really increased, and its like day and night. I know that life isnt a constant, buuuut im pretty sure, if you put Fedor in a mordern training camp, he would be titan fedor <Eek2.0>

anyway ... jones vs fedor/DC vs fedor would be boring <Lmaoo> Brock lesnar vs Fedor ... both in their 20s in a mordern (today) training camp = biggest fight ever.
