Was considered 1 or 2 at HW.

Has 1 LHW loss, could potentially have 2.

He would go from 1 or 2 @ HW to 3 at LHW.

If DC loses, does that prove that HW is easier than LHW?

Discuss.

I thought the general consensus is that HW is much less talented then the other divisions?

Let's put it this way, if he loses to Rumble then he will have lost to 2 of the best LHWs on the roster while he didn't even face any of the current top 4-5 guys at HW

lol ... Weight class MMAth

It would to speak more towards to Jones' and Rumble's talent more than anything else.

Cormier never fought Cain, JDS, Werdum, Browne...so we'll never know.

I don't think so. There are other factors, such as what the weight cut does to his body. At the end of the day I do think LHW is a more loaded division though.

It proves that DC isn't fighting as a HW at LHW. What if DC is more suited to fight at HW than LHW, and Jones/Rumble are more suited for LHW??? Ever think of that? Or what if, Jones and Rumble would also be beasts at HW???

Who the fuck cares???

There is very little to choose between the top 5 at HW and the top 5 at LHW. Very similar class of fighters.

Subtle trolling. Don't worry about this thread guys. He doesn't actually think Cormier was ever considered higher than #3 at HW.

One could also easily suggest that HW is the most dangerous division...

If AJ wins does that prove welterweights are better than light-heavyweights?

Sure, though DC doesn't have to lose for that to be proven. All you have to do is watch the fighters in both divisions.

Skill wise maybe yes, the smaller the weight class the more coordinated and fast the guys are and because the lighter weight classes are more towards the average size of human beings compared to the bigger weight classes, the skill is naturally higher than the heavier weight classes. Rumble Johnson got his skill up fighting at those lighter weight classes, he's always KO power and a lot of it, so it's not surprising to see how well he's done not having to unhealthily cut so much weight.

I think DC is one of the most coordinated fighters at LHW/HW and his speed mixed with his skill is what helped him beat these bigger slower opponents. Rumble is anything but slow and uncoordinated and it will take a lot of skill to get in on him. Though DC has the heart of a champion and will test Rumble's in this fight, if Rumble can't get DC off of him he loses.

DC's career isn't over so nice try at setting him and the entire HW div up for failure if he loses to Rumble.
