Or does it then go to Gaethje?
{<huh}<Huh2>

No he doesn't. Gaethje is the #1 contender. The wee man that Cowboy is fighting is not even close to deserving a title shot so the answer is NO!

Neither of them are getting an automatic title shot. The only way Conor would realistically get a title shot off this win is if Tony pulls out of UFC 249.

Even if Cerrone beats Conor in stunning fashion, the UFC would not allow him to leap-frog Gaethje. They'd only allow Conor to do that, and that's if he beats Cerrone.

Why would cowboy want a number 1 contender fight when he can get a rematch with tony for the belt

They will make whatever fight will make the most money

That's a very good point. Some journalist should ask Dana that question.

If this is a LW fight where they don't cut weight (LOL) then surely it's a title eliminator.

Cowboy coming for that strap. No wonder Khabib is shook and trash talking him already.

probably yes cuz he sells, but it wont be earned

No, if Cowboy wins he can fight Dustin. If Conor wins it is Street Jesus next.

Dana when someone asks him about this

I want BJ and Aldo to fight at 155 because that's where they're comfortable. Winner gets ts against Miocic. Why not?

Sherdoggers still think having a win over Conor is somehow adding a feather to their cap lol, Conor is a can.

Not if Khabib has anything to say about it. He ducked Cowboy 3x for a reason.

No, he won't. Cowboy Cerrone is the "stepping stone" for Conor McGregor. This is not a number 1 contender eliminator fight.

Cerrone is the gatekeeper to Conor's future title hopes.

Conor won't earn one with a win so no.

Hard to tell. At one time, beating a former champion (no matter how far removed from their reign) granted you a shot. These days, they probably roll dice with names on them
